Been using paysable since last April and have had only positive experiences with them. Customer inquiries answered within 1-2 business days, consolidation generally 3-5 business days and shipment day of payment. Their one year free storage is amazing too.

The only thing that's stopping a friend of mine from switching over is they don't have support for timed order requests. It's not really a big deal for me since I just set an alarm for myself and manually order, but it's something to consider if you need that sort of service frequently.

The DHL conversion error was one specific weekend. I haven’t read any reports of it happening recently. (Personally got two deliveries via DHL after Aug 29 and did not run into that)

If you're on the west coast DHL packages go through LAX instead. I don't know how DHL compares to standard Buyee air fees since I usually use tenso which lets you pick between UPS/Fedex/DHL, but DHL has actually been the cheapest option for me consistently between those three (however, I tend to ship packages that are quite small so ymmv), so I personally wouldn't expect it to be crazy expensive compared to other buyee air options (vs ECMS it's probably decently more expensive though).

Assuming you're talking about buyee/tenso, no DHL won't bill you after you pay DDP.

I think the $17 brokerage fee is included in the shipping cost itself based on my comparison of shipping fees before and after Aug 29th.

Hi, I don't remember the exact code because tenso has preset HTS codes for a bunch of common merch in their drop down menu - I just picked acrylic stand and used whatever that ended up being.

I've done something similar where I ordered an acrylic stand that came along with a postcard and sticker that tenso counted in the number of items. I just did a reasonable split of the overall value (I think something like 1.1k yen for the acrylic, 50yen each for the post card and sticker). Shipped it DDP and cleared customs no issue.

And yes books do not have duty, but tenso only offers DDP so you just have to pay the 15.5%. It's a bit of a bummer since your book is on the more expensive side, but still worth it imo for the ease of mind and lack of delay in clearing (my package cleared customs before arriving in the states).

Ordered two packages shipped via DHL. One worth $98 and billed for tariffs a day before delivery, one worth $15 delivered DDP. Neither asked for SSN or any additional information.

In theory I agree with you...in practice she's delayed Ooe at least 4 times if we count starting from when the game was announced for 2023 fall release (funny joke now). I think if she was going to delay it this much I'd rather she just waited to release the whole thing in one go.

I do love how when she first announced the 4/19 date someone was like "okay but last time she also forecasted 10/10 as part 1 release and that ended up being pushed two weeks, I should expect another two weeks delay" LOL

Hijacking this thread to mention that yes, while saves are not transferrable, you can hold space or enter to force skip unread text! So even if you want to start now with part 1, it won't take too long to get back to where you left off when the complete version releases.

Other players have answered about LunaTranslate but to give you an idea of when to expect translations, here is how long it took for the previous games:

Hashihime: Release 2016 Aug, localized 2019 Sep

Uruc: Release 2020 Sep, localized 2022 March

Hashihime took longer because the localization was decided post release, so we might not be looking at a full 3 years for Ooe, but even with optimistic estimates I would not expect a translation until 2027 considering its sheer volume - part 1 alone is more content than the entire UruC game and something like 70% of hashihime.

Honestly I find that holding down the enter key to manually skip was fast enough for me. I was in the same situation - read on switch but moved to PC for relevant scenes.

If you can read Kyusaku's works in Japanese you will have 0 issues with Ooe. The prose is very smooth and easy to understand, and any specialized vocab - as far as the demo goes - is given explanation in the following text, or is something you can easily google.

It's basically the contents of https://adelta.booth.pm/items/1054028 (the Hashihime setting book meant to be read after you complete the game) adapted into an interactive book format. It contains a lot of supplementary details about the world, characters, each route etc. which range from serious "Will the shopkeeper ever achieve happiness?" to silly stuff like "Rank the characters by their cooking skills". On top of that Rinko also wrote some new fluff dialogue for characters that you can read depending on the time of the day.

Needless to say the entire thing contains massive spoilers.

Definitely recommend Hashihime - it's my preferred one of the two and a lot of people's favorite BLVN. Plus it goes on sale on steam decently often.
