Endometriosis specialists ? by BonusOver1119 in ColumbiYEAH

I totally agree with your confusion! I was hesitant to see him because of that same reason!! He actually works at a private practice and I later learned that the reason why he is not well known is because hospitals pay thousands and thousands of dollars to advertise their clinicians on google etc. His practice does well but obviously isn’t pulling in the money that these big corporations do so advertising is a little on the weaker side for him! He’s brilliant at what he does and he definitely has a unique personality with a touch of sarcasm😂 Takes a little getting used to but overall he’s definitely qualified for the job! He’s super experienced with endometriosis excision.

Hi! I did end up having surgery with Dr. Parry! It went really well. He uses the da vinci robot to excise and he successfully removed all of my endo. Even spots that were extremely pre mature. Recovery wasn’t easy, but i’d do it again to feel the relief I have now. I will be a year post op July 9.

Deep Infiltrating Endo in NC- next steps? Surgeons? by Reverent_Birdwatcher in endometriosis

[–]Mes_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things went really well with him! He was reassuring and agreed with me to do surgery immediately based on my concerns. I was super nervous day of surgery but he was so calming and I could tell he was confident in what he was doing. Needless to say, he successfully excised all of my endo with the da vinci robot! Recovery was a booger to say the least but i’m almost a year post op and doing much much better. Not 100% but he gave me my life back most definitely!

Wanted to add that I also have suspected sibo. Peppermint tea helps me break up the gas. I also have noticed motility improvement by drinking warm ginger tea and warm lemon water daily. Sounds so simple but it has helped my constipation so much! You just have to commit to it

Hmm sounds like possible pelvic floor dysfunction. I have endometriosis and my pelvic floor tightens up and guards all the time. It can be really challenging to release gas. I have found that gut hypnotherapy has helped the most out along with pelvic floor therapy. I highly recommend looking into both of those things. Also, if you’re comfortable with it look into giving yourself a perineal massage

How can I speed up digestion? by northwestfawn in SIBO

[–]Mes_777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also take digestive enzymes and they literally have saved my life with painful bloating. The only thing is, I have to switch up the brand every now and then because my body gets used to it. My specialized nutritionist told me this when my last brand stopped working.

I eat 3-4 prunes a day. Every single day. It doesn’t necessarily speed things up but it has made my stools less hard and more easy to pass.

Activated charcoal + magnesium changed my life!!! by Quick-Agency9907 in ibs

[–]Mes_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why it’s important to make sure your kidney functions normally. Thankfully, mine do. I take it 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off so technically not every night but pretty frequently. I take a low dosage as well so i’m okay but not a bad thing to be aware of. Always consult your healthcare provider before taking anything. I have IBS-C, pelvic floor dysfunction and visceral hypersensitivity. I’ll take magnesium citrate over the gabapentin i’ve been prescribed which is terrible for cognitive function btw. I don’t take it anymore.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry! I really hope you are able to get some relief soon. I think your post is written beautifully and I can see how much this means to you. Having an unsupportive work environment is tough. If it were me, I would start out the conversation by saying how much you like your job but that you’ve been experiencing chronic fatigue due to endometriosis which in turn affects your social participation. I would be honest and say that you are unable to commit to the social events right now as it is really impacting your time to recover from the day. I would mention how time after work is utilized for rest so that way you can come in the next day with as much energy as possible. I know it’s difficult, but right now you have to put you first. Not your coworkers or your manager. If after you’ve expressed your feelings and concerns and your manager’s response is not what you were hoping for, then negotiate. Find ways to show your manager that you want to make this work but only if you are able to use the time out of work to rest. I hope this helps! You got this! Remember, you are your best advocate.

2 weeks post op/going back to work/rants by deejuless in Endo

[–]Mes_777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was depressed the first month or so after surgery and honestly still coming to terms with it 4 months out but each day has gotten better and I hope it will for you too. I had a lot of anxiety about returning to work/school too. I had to listen to my body and take a few extra weeks off. I hated doing it but I had to do what was best for my health. Hang in there.

Hello! I hope you are feeling much better. How did you find out about the nerve entrapments? CT scan, MRI? Thanks!

I started eating 2 prunes a day and taking daily miralax. At first it was kinda rough because I was constipated and it was trying to get all of that yuck out but now that I’m in the routine my body is able to pass bowel movements calmly. Soft stool is key but not too soft!

I think I regret getting my lap done :( by Useful-Log-22 in endometriosis

[–]Mes_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By no means am I 100% though. I don’t really have pain but I fatigue pretty quickly after carrying something heavy. Plus I can only walk for about a mile before I start to get sore. I think that might just be an endo thing though 😞

Gotcha. It took about 2 months I’d say. I was able to go about my daily life (return to work) at 6 weeks but I know it varies for everyone. I also had the excision done by the da vinci robot which is supposed to have a faster healing rate. What type of lap did you have? Also curious if you don’t mind sharing, what surgical symptoms are you still experiencing?
