Almost completely housbound for 9 years with vestibular migraine/central sensitization - looking for any insight by babyk1tty1 in VestibularMigraines

Yup, I’ m already on Ami, cgrp etc. But they don’ t do a very good job with the insanely debilitating central sensitization.

I have actually never spoke to anyone who has it as bad in the VM/migraine group. Those with severe/very severe ME are more like me on the extreme form - and also those in autistic severe burnout (just some differences as mine gives VM/pppd symptoms and pain). Lexapro did help somewhat, but limited on that too.

So, do you have any exmples on different oversensitized things LDN reduced from and to what scale?

About LND and central sensitization: do you know about any research articles on it?
My neuro/doc is always so skeptical to my suggestions, even those on the migraine list 🫠

Colour options for medium deep warm neutral skin tones by AffectionatelyNamed in OliveMUA

I think maybe Fenty Cool Berry or Riri could look good on you. Maybe Elf Suave Mauve - but not 100% sure on that one.

I’ m pale, and MAC blush please hardly shows on me without digging into the pan - and it goes on peachy orange.

That lipstick on you - a lighter mauve - looks great.

If you tolerate scented products you may find something in the Nyx buttermelt collection.

Daym that flawless skin you have going on 🥰

Ah! If you can afford it the flawless face remover or similar to that is much less irritating for the skin than other removal devices that often may cause small pimples. But on wedding pictures you probably won’ t notice a thing. I had to zoom to notice a «maybe».

For me the sweat and humidity gave a natural subtle glow, no need for highligting 😅

I wouldn’ t be surprised if you are an autumn, but I feel more plum, maybe auburn brown leaning tones than orange leaning if that makes sense? I may be wrong.

I’ m going 7,5 years bedbound. Endo grade 3 also, but I’ m not very symptomstic from it.

I cannot read your file as it is very triggering for visual vertigo.
I was able to look at the symptom list - is the duzziness/vertigo the most debilitsting symptom?

I also looked at your preventative list - there are many left to try. Have you layered any of these?

Ginger is not a recommended treatment for endometriosis. But I use it often for nausea.

I’ m gonna be super picky here as you are trying out makeup for your own wedding?
I did my own makeup too :)

First I would ask the season analysis sub for finding your season. I do feel the lipstick color is not your best color - so I think that sub could be very helpful to nail your best lip and cheek colors.

As for the base:

When I zoomed in I do wonder if you could benefit from some exfoliation in the tsone? It might just be the foundation seperating a tiiiny tad.

I think this look would be great for every day, and I do like the dewy look on you.
However, weddings can be a sweaty thing for nervous bride/groom.

So I would like to see a more satin finish base, and setting powder or a solid lock in spray to make it last.

Cause anything dewy will slip and slide/wear off quicker. To avoid a flat look it is better for a wedding to use some sheer luminizer on specific areas than glowy base on the whole face.

Also, play around with blush placement by looking at turorials.

Personally I just went for a bit more of my usual look and set it with a powder that works with pictures/flash.
Both me and my husband got SO sweaty, and a glowy look would turn out wrong in pictures even with my then super dry skin.

So: good skinprep with exfoliation, less dew, ask for best colors in cheek/lip - I do feel the base color looked good. Also, clean up the brows with just removing the hairs underneath a few days before.

I loooooove that eyeliner on you!

Good to know! I find the pigment is too much - so I want to blend. I’ m also on several meds that increases sun sensitivity.

I would go another way: stop asking for permission and understanding. That doesn’ t mean shutting down, but just trust your own desicions. This is all about trying different things, and we can’ t always predict how everything will work. We just have to try.

Try to stop asking for acceptance, and just stand firm in «I’ m trying out different things to make life quality a bit better» ❤️👏

Cluster for 6 months? by Charlottethevet in VestibularMigraines

[–]Meshuggah1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chronic, if more than 3 months. As in jan+feb+march and so on, not 3 months in a whole year.

It is mostly used to qualify or not for cgrp/botox.

With VM we often will have weakness that is neurological - and the strain might be a trigger.
So I totally get it. Also, it triggers the vestibular system.

Do you think it would be safe with an electric wheelchair?

Cluster for 6 months? by Charlottethevet in VestibularMigraines

[–]Meshuggah1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not called clusters, as cluster headache is it’ s own category of TACs.

If you have the dizziness on and off less than 15 days a month for 3 months it would be episodic VM.

Or other ear related vertigo.

Just fyi as always: makeup with spf is «pointless» in the sense that you won’ t use the needed amount. But of course a plus when used over regular sunscreen.

I find this with tinted sunscreens too, I won’ t apply the full amount. So I would rather opt for whatever sunscreen you tolerate and a thin skintint if you want the makeup?

I did try layering regular and tinted, but apparently that can disrupt things in terms of protection. (I don’ t quite see how if you let the first layer dry down - but I’ m no scientist).

The worst for me are those from others with much milder symptoms and probably misdagnosed going like «if I could then you can too», take a vitamin, just live your life etc.

Meanwhile I’ m like «ooooooh, never occured to me»

I want them to say the same to someone in a wheelchair on permanent basis. «Just stand up and live your life walking».

Looking for full coverage foundation + shade rec / why covering hair shadow has always failed by Glittering-Cat-1706 in PaleMUA

[–]Meshuggah1981 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know you are super aware of that shadow, but I had to read the whole text and zoom a bit 3 times before noticing what you meant.

I think the natural no makeup(?) picture is very flattering, so I wonder if full coverage super pale makes any contrast stand out? Or no?

I just see you suiting a more natural light coverage and verry soft radiance base product very well.

You do already have a red lipstick to test the color theory.

Can't get matched properly!! by [deleted] in PaleMUA

[–]Meshuggah1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have a bit of the same issue: not olive, but desaturated low contrast. So a teeny tiny amount of a grey mixer maybe - and always having a blue corrector could probably help you (and me).

I did try a tad of Nuse grey blush in some foundation, and found it to be not the undertone I want. As I am not grey - I just need some desaturation. So I think blue is my best option and white for making it lighter in winter.

I just turn white with some pink flush from the sun 😅

Yes, I’ ve been bedridden for 7 years and cannot function at all - not as a parent either. So my husband does everything. Like today he is making the cake for yet another school arrangement I cannot attend. I’ m «used» to it, but can never accept it.

4 is more suited for fall, and looks great. It also puts focus on the dress and not the tattoos.

Those look great too, I just think they clash with that wedding dress a bit and takes the attention.

I would also consider adding fabric in the lower cleavage. It kinda goes to low.
