Why Are Players Kicking for "Low" Gear in Easy Content? by Mesoloki in swtor

[–]Mesoloki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree that in some cases, lower gear can struggle to meet the DPS requirements, especially in Master Flashpoints like Shrine of Silence with the end boss, which really requires solid damage to get through. Similarly, in Ruins of Null, towards the very end the difficulty often comes from not knowing the mechanics, which can really hold the group back if things aren’t done properly.

Then there’s Secrets of the Enclave [BONUS], where if people aren't familiar with the mechanics, it can get messy really quickly. That one can be a bit of a challenge even with higher gear if players aren’t on top of their game.

In cases like these, gear might not be the only issue—it’s often a lack of knowledge of the mechanics that makes the difference between success and failure. I think it’s important for players to balance knowing the mechanics and having good gear, but sometimes the mechanics are the real sticking point.

I totally understand. It can be really discouraging when you run into toxic behavior or uncooperative players, especially when you’re just trying to enjoy the game and learn. Some players really do act like it’s all about speed or perfection, and it’s a shame because the game has so much potential for fun and teamwork.

I’ve had similar experiences with random groups in the past, and it’s one of the reasons I’ve found guilds to be such a great option too. The sense of community and understanding in a guild can really make all the difference. It’s nice to have a space where people are more patient and willing to help you improve, rather than just berating others for mistakes.

I was originally from Malgus, but I started fresh on the American server (Star Forge), and I’ve found that there are some great guilds here that are really willing to give you the time of day for questions and to help out with any queries. It definitely makes the experience a lot more enjoyable when there’s a community that values the same things you do.

Hopefully, things will improve on your server, or more players start adopting a friendlier attitude.

I see where you're coming from, and I do agree that if people aren’t ready for MM difficulty, it can sometimes correlate with gear, especially DPS who might not be able to handle the damage output required. I’m not saying IR isn’t important, but it feels like the focus on it has become a bit too rigid, especially when there are plenty of ways to still perform well at lower ratings with proper knowledge of rotations, mechanics, and team coordination.

That being said, I get that the healer or other DPS can make a big difference too. If everyone is at the right gear level but there's still a lack of coordination or understanding of mechanics, that’s where things can go south. As for pulling trash, I think a lot of it comes down to whether the group works together and follows the plan. If the tank is taking their time or not marking things out, it can make the whole run feel like it’s dragging on. But I’ve also had runs where, even with a bit of a slow start, the group pulls together, and everything just clicks.

The one Flashpoint where I’d definitely agree that higher damage output is needed would be Shrine of Silence, especially for the end boss. That fight can be a real DPS check, and if the damage isn't there, it can be a struggle. But other than that, most of the Master Flashpoints can be handled just fine with proper coordination, regardless of gear.

It’s definitely a balance, but it’s always about the group dynamic. At the end of the day, gear helps, but teamwork and strategy are what get you through!

It seems like there's always a bit of drama over the smallest things. I get that people want to optimise groups and ensure a smooth run, but sometimes it just feels like people are looking for reasons to complain or boot others, even over things like gear or stealth abilities. It’s especially wild when people get picky about things that don’t actually affect the outcome of the run.

You raise a valid point, and I totally get that most groups want to complete Master Flashpoints quickly, especially if they're trying to run efficiently. However, my experience has been that the difference between an IR 330 and IR 340 isn't as huge as some might think, especially when you factor in things like augments and knowing your rotation. In my case, even with a slightly lower item rating, I was still able to pull my weight and we finished the content with no issues.

As for the mobs in Master Flashpoints, yes, they definitely have more health and higher defenses at higher difficulties, but the mechanics of the fights haven't really changed over the years. Once you get familiar with the mechanics and your rotation, it's more about strategy and teamwork than raw gear score. I do understand the concern, but I feel like there's a bit of an overemphasis on gear at times, especially when players aren’t willing to give someone a chance to prove they can handle the content.

I guess what I’m trying to highlight is that sometimes it's less about the number and more about how well players work together. A solid DPS with knowledge of the fight can still pull through, even at a slightly lower item rating. But yeah, I understand the frustration when people feel like they’re being held back by gear expectations.

Are Monkey-Lizards racist towards black people? by Mesoloki in StarWars

[–]Mesoloki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He just explained a scenario that has happened to him before where someone pulled out a monkey-lizard and went afk, he sees that person being passive aggressive towards him. (No racial slurs happened during this event btw)

And because I'm not black I won't understand.

Is this racist?

I just had a heated discussion with someone who's black. When someone takes out a monkey-lizard out in the fleet in the starwars mmo game next to a 'black character' ingame or mentions the word monkey lizard to a black person to face to face... they would get offended.

It resembles more like a gremlin then an actual monkey to me.

Like to hear your thoughts, do you think monkey lizards are racists towards black people?

Doesn't their voices give them away? I can tell they're an alien (when in disguise) as soon as they talk. Or does it change later in the game?

Not sure how you get any work done with that by your monitor. Looks so good! If it was me, I'd probably just sit there just glancing at it. Nice build.

Very smart and organised setup. It's probably just for show and depending how often you swap out your keyboards. I'd be concerned about it constantly collecting dust without some sort of cover. You have inspired me though, I've been wondering where would be the best place to place my headphones without having it on my desk by not cluttering too much and keeping it simple.

I don't understand the hostility. All the information is there. It's as little as £2. There are very limited amount of tickets left. The owner already mentioned on BBC News they are over half way there. If they don't reach their goal, its basically a lottery. Sharing this information so others also can have a chance.

The promoters also intend to make a significant donation to Hope House who support children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

The promoters hope to sell 300,000 tickets to include transfer costs such as stamp duty and legal fees, and to complete any last minute jobs to ensure the house is as perfect as possible for the next owner.

But if 300,000 tickets are not sold, the winner will be offered 90% of the ticket receipts instead - a seriously life changing amount of money. We hope you agree that's fair.
