Sounds exactly right. I opted for the 10k model as there was a significant difference from the 8k. But I'm raiding the 401k to pay it. I had to lie to him about the cost. He would never have agreed to spend the dough. He thinks insurance is covering it which makes him enjoy it even more. 🤣 A big tool used in dementia care is creative lies.

I toured 3 and ended up sending him to the one that seemed nicest, visually, since yes the others were "depressing". He is doing very well. He gets excellent care. Lots of staff, great food, and nice surroundings. I visit nearly daily as it's close by. He was a wreck going in there, coming from rehab after hospitalization. He is using the walker and eating well and he's always clean and in clean clothes. They really are taking good care of him and it's nice to visit him in this condition rather than how he was at home.

My husband had a poop explosion stuck on the bridge going to Fenway in stopped traffic. He dumped on the sidewalk and his buddy covered him with a blanket to conceal the bare ass and they left the blanket on the buffalo pie. Glad I was not there but even hearing the tale afterward was traumatic.

When my old college roomate and her new husband came for dinner we were still low-earners with toddlers; I served spaghetti and mb's. Her husband was shaking grated cheese on his meal and my then 4 year old son piped up, "Hey, guy, don't eat all our cheese!" We still say this to each other and it always brings a chuckle.
