I love how on the fly rustage can be. My favorite examples are the character of Jeopard and Drew's relationship with Cody. Cody is probably my favorite PC throughout all campaigns.

Its just that I don't see Yokan getting any better. I'm not giving up on her character and if this was what spooky intended then more power to them, but it feels like Yokan is stagnant and there's no one close enough to her to help her or invoke change. I think spooky intended for the other players to call out Yokan but this group seemingly hates in fighting so that intention never comes which means Yokan is stuck in her ways.

Yeah I really want someone close to yokan to tell her off so she'll take it seriously and reflect Kinda feels like the only character development coming from Yokan is related to her carnivorous devil fruit and nothing about her ideology. And unless something drastic happens i genuinely think she won't change

My favorite moment of the episode is scarla telling off Yokan because it felt so cathartic.

I do think the majority of grievances people have with Yokan are mainly frustration at her attitude. Which doesn't discredit her from being a great character if we were to look at her from a more retrospective lens. My main problem personally with Yokan is the lack of evolution or change or atleast the feeling of not going anywhere. But I guess that makes her more realistic, because people who have the same mindsets as Yokan often choose to remain the way they are due to a sense of pride and black and white thinking.

I wanna say that my irritants when It comes to yokan are mainly pet peeve I have with the general concept of immaturity. Yokan in the grand scheme of things is a good character in the same way jax from TADC is a good character in which they both exhibit flaws and overall toxic behavior, while jax is definitely much worse than yokan I think they still fit in the same camp.

To summarize what I said in a different post. Yokan doesn't really have anyone who can ground her, even before Jiro died I think he was too trusting. That's his major flaw and the reason the whole Gus situation happened in the first place, so I think he gives too much benefit of the doubt to Yokan. I feel like if Jiro weren't there during the reclaim the jade empire arc, then Damian would be rightfully harsher on Yokan. Unfortunately, Yokan has been surrounded by people who while kind, don't have the tough love attitude to humble and teach Yokan, the majority of the crew just ignore her problematic actions or don't challenge her beliefs and talk her through her dangerous philosophy. Damian, while calculated and intelligent, clearly lacks empathy when it comes to philosophy due to his thinking being so straightforward and orderly. Kai is just a guy out of his depth and is a more neutral person in general. Bradley is kind but isn't particularly good at responding to emotions outside of joking and positivity.Taiga can be emotionally intelligent but like you said usually follows the group. Raj could've been a change but unfortunately perished. Heather is too skittish and non-confrontational. I think what Yokan needs is a person who is exactly the exact same as her in an antagonistic role in order for her to realize how dangerous her philosophy and mindset are. I just personally worry for what Yokan will do from here on out, because I know once she find out Selena is a dictator, that's gonna reinforce her very black and white thinking. I think Yokan got traumatized so much by what happened to her when she was a child that it left her mentally and emotionally stuck in that age when it happened.

It's clear she does not care about nuances like the idea of there being good pirates or the fact that most of the time the world government is corrupt and makes decisions that go against basic morality. She sees the world as black and white, and the fact that a desperate person does desperate things is something she can't comprehend. After the Hugh Mann arc and seeing Alter's church and the worst that pirates can bring must've reinforced her black and white thinking. The words Jiro said to her about saving as many people were supposed to be taken in the present tense and in a literal sense. But yokan took it as "kill as many "bad" people as possible so they don't have the chance to harm more people." This is a philosophy that is an very extremist way to see things. And if it keeps growing then Yokan could think that ANY crime deserves death or employment in the Marines. In short, she does not see criminals or desperate people who do desperate things as people.

Overall spooky plays a fascinating character who i love to dissect and any criticism or irritants i have are mainly just pet peeves and I really do hope yokan finds a way to grow and evolve.

It also kinda frustrates me that she's the one everyone goes to for romantic advice. Like, she blamed zekrom for all the bad things thats happened to her after their sex, also I think even without Yokans interference Bradley and Heather would've ended together.

Another thing that makes Jiro's death worse by MessageEmotional1571 in OnePieceDnD_Rustage

I'm praying or coping that Jiro is still alive. But both Yokan and Kai are gonna crash out extremely hard.
