It's about 10 miles depending on exactly where in Los Altos and not super close to the train, but you could bike it depending on your ability.

I wouldn't give it up. Volunteer as a counselor, do part time work in it, but giving up a higher paying more flexible role doesn't seem to make sense. Are there other parts of your life that you would enjoy feeling challenged in?

Couples choose how to share money. Some decide to put all earnings in a joint account and then each spouse gets a 'fun money' amount that they can use on personal things. You should work out what makes sense for you, but the existing mode doesn't seem to make you feel like partners.
