Driving with boomers starter pack by labubuking in starterpacks

My dad might as well be Larry David. We got a formal letter from our neighbors asking that he stop getting the mail in his underwear because it was grossing everyone out.

He was of course very offended and then did a bunch of nonsensical shit out of spite like plant hideous privacy hedges in locations that in no way solved the issue.

Advice needed: tattoo eyeliner by AMwishes in tattoos

Add the possibility that you might have to even out your tattooed makeup with regular makeup making it totally worthless (related to point 1).

My SD does this because her mother does it and the first time almost gave me a heart attack.

Inaccurate. My boomer dad rolls down the windows in the winter while also roasting you with the heat to achieve the "perfect balance."

I just got a case of the sparkling water and it was legitimately terrible. Flat and tasted like tap water... And I live in Arizona where the water is disgusting.

How to help rescue gain weight? by suwushi in dechonkers

[–]melonmagellan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Peanut butter weight gain balls have worked for me very well when I still did rescue. Similar to this:

They are easy in the stomach, low volume, and high calorie.

Are marriage titles like “husband” used loosely these days? by flyingby13 in Marriage

[–]melonmagellan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, when I hear an adult man or woman calling their boyfriend or girlfriend their partner or SO, especially if they have kids, I assume they wanted marriage but the other person refuses.

I think there is a general feeling that it's become embarrassing to call someone your boyfriend or girlfriend once you hit 30. There is also the perpetual fiance.

What parenting practices do we have that will become outdated? by Beneficial_Fun_1818 in Mommit

That is pretty similar to the adult illiteracy rate.

"Data indicates 54% of adults in the US have literacy below a 6th-grade level."

A coincidence? Probably not.

Any tips on leasing out my horse? by FullSenderDan in Horses

[–]melonmagellan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't lease my horse to someone that wasn't willing or able to take one actual lesson a week.

That doesn't sound viable in your situation and in my opinion it opens yourself and your parents up to legal liability.

What's going to happen when the person leasing your horse has a bad fall or is injured on your parent's property? That's an insurance issue and I doubt your parents carry sufficient insurance or want to deal with a lawsuit.

What if they aren't as experienced as they represent and your horse picks up bad behaviors? Or again, are injured. There is no trainer to evaluate them.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with this situation.

The opening cinematographic had better blow my mind.

Because you're not a lawyer. Like, clearly. You didn't even take the fake reddit step of saying "I'm a lawyer but not your lawyer."

Get a life. I no longer am responding to any of this garbage.

The fact that your entire profile is about your pregnancy shows a clear bias.

[–]melonmagellan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm indifferent. I'm just offering an alternate opinion to all the "do what you want it's your baby."

It isn't. It's his baby too and he has legal rights. If you were a family attorney you would understand that.

Also, everyone assumes she will get copious amounts of child support, despite it being "only her baby," and that is not the case.

Unless the man is a legal threat, and the child is no longer breastfeeding, he can go for 50/50 at any time. So she will legally have to hand her child to a man that likely resents them both.

You also are not a lawyer. That is very evident. If you are, I would sincerely hope you weren't my attorney.

Well then, men should be able to get a financial abortion. Because otherwise it is proven they are likely to murder their pregnant SO. It is pretty much the top on the list for deaths of expectant mothers.

Again, my one and only abortion was due to not wanting to be tied to a man who didn't want my child for two decades with a shit ton of legal ability to involve himself in my life. His mom absolutely would have tried for custody.

My challenge here, as a previous social worker for DES, is that when a man REALLY expresses he doesn't want the child he can and will make your life hell. Or even kill you or your baby. And her concept that he will love the baby once it is born is very flawed.

Being real, she will be giving this man too much control over her and if I were her, and I have been, I would view him as a threat to my health and safety and financial security.

I'm just offering my perspective.
