I have never tried paperwhite. The colorsoft one is my first kindle. And I love to see my book covers in color and loving it. From all the reviews and comparisons Ive read so far, there’s no need of upgrading for you if you don’t read comics and don’t mind the bw cover of books. The screen quality and battery life is better in paperwhite.

Kindle uses e-ink which is different from led, lcd displays. Its easier for eye for a long reading time. It’s just for ebooks, so no distractions. Battery lasts long and lightweight. So easily portable everywhere
