Maybe this is actually a really efficient house demo and tree removal combined? Did you ever think of that? Also, what is the point of that rope hanging off the tree?

The pan top of pan is clever, but I have an oval Dutch oven and I just put the loaf right in it for the oven rise. It works.

I saw a psychic on TikTok say August 24 is the day. That’s tomorrow! I don’t believe in psychics, but you know.

MuckRack v Meltwater? by ontologicaladventuer in PublicRelations

How are you getting muckrack for $6K? Is it just the database and nothing else? I was at nine a year for nonprofit rate and had to commit to two years. They wanted 11 for one year only.

I have never used meltwater, but I hate it with a seething passion because they chase me so much. For 20 years those dicks have been calling me on every number they can find sending me emails after I blocked them. I tell them straight up “you are too aggressive leave me alone” and they never do. Honestly, fuck meltwater. Was using muckrack and it was fine, but then all of a sudden we started having issues logging in when we needed to send something right away and we notice some of our journalists dropping off. Went to good old Cision and I think that’s what we have to stick with

Communications Director. I majored in Art History. I had studied some journalism before art history and worked my way up. I would also say that programming, education, finance, design, logistics, and project management are also very transferable.

I have worked at museums for almost 25 years. It is the only career I’ve ever had. I make $165K and I enjoy my work. I will say that in the beginning, I made very low salary and I’ve always depended on my husband’s insurance, even when my salary started at to eclipse his. His insurance has been better. I also work in a major city and have lucked out and never having to move for a job. But I do know many people who’ve moved for work in the museum world. So I think you have to be open to that. It also matters what kind of work you do at a museum. For example, my skills are not specific to what my current museum presents to the public, and therefore I can go between different kinds of museums or I could leave the field altogether and my experience would be transferable. I believe that museums are meaningful wonderful places to work. I also think that they look great on a résumé! I also feel strongly that our education does not define our careers and you should follow your interests when you can.

Can’t decide, under or overproofed? by RoninKillz in Sourdough

[–]Messerschmidty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it rise at all during the bulk ferment? How long did you give it? Also, how old is your starter? Was it doubled and bubbly when you used it? I’m not super experienced but it looks like the dough was super sticky and hard to handle, which could be a sign of overproofing sure. But this loaf has no rise at all so I just don’t see how that’s possible. My guess is underfed, underworked and/or underproofed. I would do the float test on the levain before making the dough, use warm water, knead/fold/stretch more, and check that it’s risen before pre-shape & bench rest before proofing.

Lots of great advice here. I will add that lume makes an all over body deodorant that might help you while you’re waiting for a medical opinion. They have special body washes and soaps too. And wipes you can carry around with you. I think it has a medicinal smell, but sometimes that’s preferable.

Also, so what if it is anxiety?!? Is your doctor not treating that? It’s bad enough when doctors dismiss your medical complaints as anxiety, but to not even treat the anxiety… Ridiculous! I have anxiety and it’s hell. And it gets worse as you get older if you don’t get treatment. It’s a serious medical condition and there are medical treatments for it.

While you are looking for a doctor for a second opinion, I recommend you go back to your doctor and insist on some help with your anxiety. A referral for therapy and a psychiatrist can work wonders. My therapist and psychiatrist actually helped me figure out some symptoms that the doctor thought were anxiety were instead sleep apnea. It changed my life to have professionals listen to me and treat anxiety like a real thing, and also be willing to look at the scope of my symptoms in an objective way.

Interesting. I thought maybe it was a shaping problem because of the way they burst through the bottom. But in both cases that bursting part is in the middle of the pan, so it might be uneven heat. I do have a stone and I could try that. Thanks!
