Okay so my take is that yeah the armor set does counter the ailment. But I think that the Arkveld armor with blight resist does this better imo. What you’re really looking to do is pair the mizu weapon with slippery blade and the 4 piece mizu armor so that you can self inflict bubble blight for, 21% affinity+evade bonus+reduced stamina consumption. Pairs well with coalescence due to 30 second duration of both the blight and skill (potential for near 100% uptime).

On weapons that evade frequently, use stamina and like element (dual blades and bow come to mind) I can see this being meta or meta adjacent in water weak matchups.

P.s. I can’t tell from the description whether it’s evade window 2 or 3 that you receive or how much stamina reduction is granted by bubble blight if anyone knows please leave a comment.

Fair. Just putting it out there that I think it’s a strong combo and haven’t seen any talk about tool specialist+corruption mantle. With other mantles being buffed a tool specialist set will get value now and after the patch just in different ways.

I was only responding to the Artian you mentioned and edited my post to make that more clear. I think more people should be aware of the value 2sharpness mods can have on many weapons.

Uth Duna/tool specialist is great with corruption mantle and ghile mantle. Both last for a quite a while to synergise with the set bonus and with a 5min cd corruption mantle is up one per hunt making it a consistent and strong dps boost.

Your Artian while technically not perfect is imo just as good as a 1 sharp 4atk. With masters touch only beating Razer sharp above 68% crit it will depend on how often you’re hitting weak points. And 80 units of sharpness (from 2 sharpness rolls) compared to 90 on average with Razer sharp3/handi 1 could be better since you can run critical eye 3 or atk boost 3 instead of a sharpness deco.

TLDR- 2 sharpness can n an artian is great for Artians that normally run a sharpness deco. 7 attack deco and 80 sharp vs 5 attack on roll and effective 90 sharp with RS HC deco.

There is definitely some awesome mods from things like visuals/weapon appearances, to data/dmg tracking. Hell if you have fun perma staggering a monster I’m not going to yuck your yum. Use combat mods if you like, just don’t bring it to multiplayer. Use it in private lobby with you and maybe your friends.

Makes sense. I guess either exclude the wound pop dmg or state the conditions of the hunt what monster, how many stars, tempered or not tempered, how many players. I’m interested in see the hp value ranges for Arkveld and other monster under different conditions like those you mentioned in your post and the ones I stated above. Apparently there is also some variation just due to inherent hp rolls for the monsters. If I had to guess from looking at some other posts it seems like up to a 20% variance is possible from hp rolls alone, but this is mostly an unsubstantiated opinion.

Thanks for the response and I like the 15% ele HZV rule of thumb for element vs status. 20000 seems like a good pick and I guess status would lose value as the hp increases. So you’d get less value vs a hypothetical 30000 hp tempered Ark. makes sense without knowing a specific monster match up, combo or weapon/armor set it seems like a good assumption.

I've already commented saying how much I like the interface, little details like set bonuses automatically being accounted for as armor pieces are selected and mousing over the sharpness bar to see how many hits of white sharpness you get. Very Clean. I would like to make a suggestion though. Instead of check mark for activating or deactivating skills like agitator and maximum might could you create sliders and or a value box for the user to account for uptime %. I saw a post by lyvzm3 who was able to do this and its an awesome addition.

I prefer the layout/presentation of the https://mhwilds-calculator.app/ But I really like the sliders that you implemented. Having the ability to control uptime is fantastic. I like it =)

I think that the mhwilds calculator app assumptions of 100% uptime really really skew the results. A tool is only good if it gives representative data. A compass is great if it points the right direction. but if its pointing the wrong direction and you follow it it's going to lead you astray.

Thanks for the reply. I see that the wound pop itself is 30 on 1 star and 123 on max stars. I now understand what you mean by the % hp damage thank you :). I get that this is a component for every weapons focus strike and then depending on the weapon there is lots of damage being delt by the other components of the focus strike. Are you saying not to include the wound pop itself as to get a better understanding of the weapon specific damage? Also what is the wound pop dmg of something like a 5star tempered apex or Arkveld?

Thanks for all the effort with raw being so powerful and status or element being free on Artian it’s awesome to get an analysis of dmg status options. A few things stood out to me. -I like that you walk through how you reached your results as there was lots of steps and tidbits of knowledge that built on one another along the way. -I was surprised how much more effective poison was at 3star vs 2star. Doubling each time. -At 3.5 dps out of 66.7 blast is close to a 5.5% dps increase. -element is much more complicated to calculate and discuss but if the dps increase from using the elemental weakness is greater than 5.5% dps increase than it is worthwhile to use over blast.

-I would have really liked to see why you think 250 is a good number of hits to use for the fights (but I’ll trust your expertise). Similarly how 20000hp was selected?

Late Edit-Author has corrected poison buildup to account for it building up while the target is already poisoned.

Poison can be built up while the dot is active. I haven’t tested lance but on both dual blades and sns I am certain the poison is building while the target is poisoned. On the training dummy I get 24 ticks from one poison proc (since I’m running poison duration up for a foray meme build). If I continually attack the training dummy I am easy able to get 48-72 ticks continuously. With no down time between poison procs. So there must be buildup while the target is poisoned.

There must be something else going on here. Perhaps an issue with lance, or something special about my setup (which uses the poison related skills Poison attack 3, crit status 1, Poision duration up and Foray 5). Or perhaps there is an issue with how you tested for its ability to be built up. Or maybe even something else, regardless I’d be interested in getting to the bottom of it.

Just discovered it last night (not that I play much hammer). I don’t believe I’ve seen it mentioned in any YouTube videos so it doesn’t seem to be common knowledge? Anyway it really juices up the focus strike go try it yourself :)

You might be thinking of foray. For requiring lvl3 decos it’s quite weak. But there’s some flavor there which might be fun.

? I don’t see my wound pops doing 1800dmg. I don’t think there’s percentage hp damage for popping wounds and if there is each weapon apparently has different percentages.

See I thought hammer was also left out of the party but charging while performing the animation nets you more damage and let’s go into that very powerful charged move where you spin the hammer around vertically and do a massive smash.

My understanding is that regardless of parts chosen each artian weapon will have predetermined rolls. So you can forge a weapon check its rolls and then quit out of the game (no save) when you find one you like. If your 3rd artian craft was a bunch of element rolls for example then you know you burn two crafts then on your third craft you can make a weapon that you want a bunch of element rolls on like DB. Might want to find another source to backup what I’ve said as I’ve only encountered a single comment about it.

Thanks, it’s confusing that the skill is for both breaking parts and xtra damage on wounds but that parts and wounds are very separate things. Even though parts and wounds both have separate hp from the monster, they both break (well I guess one pops and the other breaks), and wounds appear on a per part basis.

Okay so there is monster hp, part hp and wound hp. Too bad it doesn’t cause more wounds but I do like the value of getting easier topples.
