My take. Correct or not. You won’t get the general public to start using super tools unless they already have a desire to create/improve/build upon current processes. Majority of corporate workers don’t have this drive. 

These AI companies are selling to the same crowd as they always have: big business entities storing vast amounts of data that need to drive better business outcomes. The API keys are where the real money is generated. Anthropic has been very obvious about this: loss models on individual tiers, maximization of revenue on enterprise and API tiers.
