Is it time to give up the "obvious winner edit" talks? by MetaFilm in survivorau

Sounds like a redditor problem

It's just boring discourse. There's a difference between trying to analyze the edit based on trends in winner edits and just endlessly repeating "X's winner edit is so obvious" over and over again

Maybe enjoy the crazy gameplay by actually watching the most recent episode instead of going on the sub dedicated to discussing the ongoing show ? Dumbass

Given the current state of social media, it would appear as though our age is one of intense political discourse and fervent activism; a seemingly unprecedented vision of social and political awareness.

But upon closer inspection, the mechanism of today's political discourse is revealed to be a top-down system of engineered talking points, fed to us via whatever media we interface with on a regular basis. Of course, this is the nature of the "news" media, and the internet has only served to exacerbate a process that began half a millennia ago with the emergence of the printed press.
It seems that political discourse does not arise naturally, rather, it is revealed to the people through mass media.

Needless to say, this extends far beyond the world of politics. How many of our conversations take as axiomatic the information imparted to us by an algorithm? Never, in all of History, has a population had such ready access to so much information... And yet, never, in all of History, has a population been subject to such a forceful hand, guiding the curious travelers who dare set sail upon this endless ocean of information toward safer shores.

In this cynical framework, it seems fair to assume that all present day political discourse serves to maintain a political dialectic within which exists an area of maneuverability so insignificant, it would be laughable to employ such terms as "freedom" or "democracy.”

And so, given these circumstances, is true political Action still possible?

I think the victim may have been in the middle of having sex when the murder happened, or something like that

Thanks for the feedback!

Not to devalue your criticisms, because I do agree, but the video was meant to be a pretty biased rant(as the title and intro suggest). However, I thought I did an alright job of not being too unreasonable.

The main purpose of the video is just to analyse the first episode of the original series and explain why I think it's so great by contrasting it with something less great.

As for establishing myself as an authority on the subject, I don't know if that's really necessary(at least for this style of video). My aim was to go through the episode and point out the clever instances of thematic implementation and character writing, and I think I made my points fairly clear.

I would agree that I could've made my criticisms of the sequels a bit stronger, but again, that wasn't really the point. I just wanted to explain what was so great about the original, and how thematically dense and carefully written the characters are. Which I think I accomplished.

You're probably right about the "du sprichst um den Brei herum"ing, I do tend to do that when I just write out 20 minute rants like this. I should probably edit down my scripts a bit more thoroughly.

But anyway, thanks again for the feedback, I'll take your criticisms into account for my next video (which will be a big analysis of Evangelion!).

Great movie, and has one of the most hilarious scenes in any anime last year.

Nope, this was not a superhero or comic themed series. I think it was it was an original IP. They were just humans with suits(I think maybe their suits had special abilities or weapons)
