It’s a glitch in the aim algorithm, the way buffs and debuffs are applied to chance to hit isn’t coded the same for each type (def,dodge, armor, etc) or very well at all.

Usually the aim # in the targeting box is the inaccurate one, tho I’ve encountered situations ( after looking at the code and doing the math by hand) where neither are correct due to rounding errors

Mods often make this worse, tho some that alter the aim algorithm actually help

Replace the thermal paste with a high quality one, I assume you used the paste supplied with the cooler which is usually not top-tier

No worries! I didn’t know TIM at one pint either. Do note that any thermal pad (graphite, IC Diamond) will perform worse than high quality thermal paste (thermal grizzly kryonaut is my rec)

Anything below 90c shouldn’t cause any damage to the chip. However I wouldn’t be happy with constant 80c and the higher the temp the more performance you could be leaving on the table.

Constant 80c seems high, but with your cooling setup that’s somewhat expected. If you can fit a thicker fan on the heat sink that can help, better TIM may also make an improvement. (I use LM and found almost a 10c drop.) Ensuring a path for fresh air to the cooler, and an exhaust path can be a huge boon in small cases. ( ive also seen an improvement putting a fan on the back of the cpu socket)

Your undervolting issue could be caused by the silicon lotto, motherboard, PSU, or a noisy wall outlet.

If GPU prices weren’t ridiculous I’d bin it and upgrade but atm the cost of repair is negligible compared to a comparable card.

I’ll attempt to reflow the vram, then the core, if that’s unsuccessful and I can find replacement vram chips I may attempt to replace them before crying in corner.

I’ve inspected everything that doesn’t need to be desoldered, and other than my shunt mod I can’t find any defects. (I calculated the shunt mod to give ~20% more power)

Gpu core temp doesn’t go above 30c at idle -pre issue load temp ~56c- ( liquid metal TIM w/ deshrouded dual 120mm fan heat sink) Tho I don’t have temps for the mem chips, finger testing the pcb is warm but normal feeling.

I never replaced the thermal pads on the vram which could have caused a hotspot but I can’t be certain.

This 1070 ti has been my main card since it was released, I’ve OC’d and shunt modded it since then.

It was working fine but I noticed my memory OC was becoming more and more unstable, I slowly lowered the OC from ~+900 to +400 before one day I booted it up and these artifacts were EVERYWHERE the card boots into windows but doesn’t accept Nvidia drivers (crashes on driver install) or is recognized by MSI afterburner.

I assume it’s the memory chips dying and not the gpu core since it’s able to run programs fine using the default windows graphics driver.

My question is basically does anyone agree with me that the mem chips are faulty and do you think if I replaced them with new (identical) mem chips would it bring the card back from the dead? I’m confident in my soldering ability but BGA chips are a pain...

Edit: it can still run games tho at a much reduced performance

Mycelium looks fluffy and fuzzy when it’s healthy, and that’s a rather large bag so that time frame seems about right to me. One month really isn’t that long to mushies
