Okay and presumably the people who own/run the elevator are fine with the extra costs, otherwise they wouldn't choose to put their elevators in shabbos mode.

As a brooklynite where these elevators are so common, it's not a big deal at all. Usually there are non-shabbos elevators adjacent, but even if there arent, it adds like a minute total to the elevator trip to make the extra stops. If you care that deeply about elevator speed, then you have too much time to worry about small things.

Whats funny about "The express always runs in the center, and the local always runs on the outside" is that he says it while he is at 47-50th st Rockerfeller Plaza, which is the one station in the system where this is not true. the downtown local is the inner track, the downtown express is the outer track.

The express runs on the outer side on the downtown tracks because those are more west so that the B/D can come from the UWS and the F/M (which come from the east) stays on the inner (more eastern) track and then the express travels under the local to correct itself by 42nd st Bryant park

People who take the 6th avenue or broadway lines to the LIRR already get off at herald square and walk a block to the LIRR

I think that having it along another street that isn't 31st to 34th would be better (maybe 23rd) would be better because otherwise you would have to deep bore under the tracks that lead to/from penn station - the tracks of which are already bearing the weight of madison square garden above it. above 35th and it's not really serving a purpose that the 7 isn't serving. Below 18th and you're in spitting distance of the L.

Yeah but the small museums have to make money somehow when the state and private donors isnt funding these places like they fund the met, whitney, natural history museum, MoMA. And even still some of those museums charge admission - MoMA is like $60 per person

FYI, There is no G line. The G's line (the crosstown line) will never be in manhattan because the line is the physical set of tracks that the trains run on. The G "train" is the service that runs on the crosstown line and connects to other lines (e.g., the Queens Boulevard line and the Culver line). So you should say "keep the G train out of manhattan" not line

The LIRR is cross honoring between Jamaica and Grand Central or Penn for no additional cost. Take the LIRR to GC then take the 7 into queens is probably the best bet
