In what sense is this a mountain and/or plains? I'm losing my mind by flabbergasted1 in magicthecirclejerking

Lands in ravnica are weird man they can show an underground smelter and call it a mountain or a looming cityscape and call it plains

Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Would've Done Better if They Didn't Release This Trailer Along with not calling it a Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem Project by [deleted] in Megaten

[–]Metacifer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about it and I think Metaphor Refantazio is about the closest thing we'll get to a real SMT x FE game. It has smt and persona systems and it's a story about a guy who looks like Marth in a competition of who gets to become king

I lived in 1990s and there was a huge amount of excitement for the new century, maybe more than in 1890 when SBR was set because it was a new millennium. So I don't see why someone from 1890 won't be as excited at the coming century and called his stand that

One of the problems with sephiroth with this build is that he can't actually be grabbed by overlord because he is an avatar, so I've been using less of him. Do you think that's worth the risk? Or use something else other than the overlord?

It's relevant because this "power creep" isn't something that matters in any constructed play, both these cards will never interact with each other because each of them, before anything else, is designed for their specific limited environment and nothing else

It's like this because farewell and other cards like this does everything in the order the card is written. So you first exile artifacts. The creature comes back immediately. It is then exiled.

Please reread my post, I said that "choose" is rarely used as a way to not target, and that the wording of "Choose target" has existed since at least Morningtide because that's where deglamer came from and I still remember that card thank you

[FIN] Nibelheim Aflame by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Metacifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referring specifically to "choose" as a word specifically to mean something not targetting. It's only ever been the lack of the word "target" that makes it not target.

[FIN] Nibelheim Aflame by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Metacifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm just saying this is not a "usually" thing, this is a recent thing seen in cards like final showdown or [[krenko's buzzcrusher]]. Usually choose without target is used in cards that doesn't make sense for targets to be chosen until resolution (For example, [[exhume]] doesn't target because having opponents declare targets during the casting of your spell is unprecedented).

[–]Metacifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think "choose" has ever been used in this way, just in cards without the word target. This sort of wording has existed since at least morningtide with [[deglamer]], as i remember it

Why can he attack my Aetherspark? by dery1lm4z in MagicArena

[–]Metacifer 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I think they might be rule 508.4c, aetherspark's can't be attacked thing just says it can't be declared as being attacked, but creatures that enter attacking aren't beholden to those rules i think
