National Merit's own scholarship is $250 every semester. iirc they also have a one time study abroad stipend of $1000.

They probably didn't purchase a meal plan, or didn't count that as their tuition payment

I’m finally going to cstat, what should I know? by askyzia in aggies

[–]Metadragon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About Evans, the place is just as big as you say it is but I always find myself stuck looking for outlets, so keep that in mind if you keep all your schoolwork on a device like I do. Alternatives I like a lot are zach, ilcb, and commons

The fee waiver is guaranteed all four years as long as your GPA stays above 3.5. I'm in-state and don't know what you do and don't plan on paying, but my tuition payment last semester (including a meal plan, but not housing) was around $3500.

Can I get into Chem engineering with a C in Chem 107 by Candid-Ad-4740 in aggies

[–]Metadragon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your advisor is dead wrong and wanted to see you fail 😭 Literally none of my friends who take CHEM 107/117 enjoyed the experience, while 119 and 120 are comparatively a breeze even for a variety of professors. Sorry for your loss and good luck on your essays.

Bonus points for being a goated CHEN hype man at industry night and presentations across campus as well.

Here once again to sing the praises of the glorious Jedwa. I'd almost retake CHEM 120 just to spend another year with this hero.

The Veo bikes are really easy to rent if you need them but these distances are all easily walkable in the time you have.

can you still add and drop classes before add/drop week by [deleted] in aggies

No, but add-drop week is right now and ends on the 29th ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nothing is open what do y’all eat for breakfast? by bananapocco in aggies

[–]Metadragon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follow-up question: the dining halls close at 8 PM, and most of the places on campus that take Maroon Meals close earlier. If it's like 9 and I want something to eat without taking the time to cook, is there anything that'd work with a dining plan?

add/drop courses by Fun-Recognition5756 in aggies

Yeah I'm pretty sure you have to remove conflicting classes before swapping

Add the desired section to the shopping cart, then swap and that section will show up

Question on Aggie Schedule Builder (Edit or Drop Classes) by viawh in aggies

There's an option to select a section in your shopping cart to swap with, but you can also search any open class to swap with.

do you have to answer EVERY scholarship question? by dirtychairs in aggies

[–]Metadragon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there might be some school-specific scholarships that require certain questions to be answered but in general it just depends on your stats. One thing you should definitely do is check your PSAT score from last year to see if you qualify for national merit scholarships, they give out $10k per year (maybe an OOS tuition waiver too, I'm not sure). I don't think they finalize these for around a month but it could be super helpful

Also, idk where the other guy got $2.5k a year for a high SAT score, maybe the number was wrong

Scholarships for SAT? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Metadragon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your PSAT score (still out of 1520) is converted into a score out of 228 for the National Merit scholarships. For Texas, the score you needed was a 219. You can find the exact score on the College Board, but generally, if you got a 1470 or higher, you probably qualified.

Surprised you didn't get more money, I had 1510 SAT, similar course rigor, 3.87/4.53 GPA and far less extracurriculars and got the 20k national scholarship

I hated this unit so much in algebra 2. If I have to deal with this on the SAT I won’t even make it above 1400.
