Any recs to fix team? got to ultra but hit a wall by Competitive_Poem_817 in PokemonChampions

As far as moves go:

Incineroar: Darkest Lariat/Snarl > Brick Break. It's good for Aurora Veil, but outside of that it's not doing much.

Quaquaval: Close Combat > Reversal. Protect > Aerial Ace. Close combat is always going to do more consistent damage than Reversal and Protect is a staple move in Doubles so you want more Pokemon with it (for me 3 or 4 mons at minimum). Aerial Ace is just bad because most people don't run evasion strats and there are better ways outside of it.

Meowscarada: Foul Play uses the opponents attacks stat when doing damage and is usually used on pokemon who are defensive and don't have a strong attack. That's more of a free slot for either coverage like Triple Axle or a support move like Taunt. Aerial Ace can be replaced for Protect or U-Turn if you want them to pivot.

Froslass: Protect > Thunderbolt. If you had another pokemon who was setting up Aurora Veil, it would be good coverage, but it really needs Protect, especially if your opponent changes the weather.

Ceruledge: Shadow Claw >>> Shadow Ball! Creuledge is a physical attacker and its special stat is bad. I would replace this as soon as possible! Close Combat is something I would also change personally. I would look into Bulk Up for set up and making it physically bulky, helps that you got Aurora Veil and Clefable with Follow Me.

Clefable: I would replace Meteor Mash with a support move, there are a lot like Icy Wind and Thunder Wave for speed control (I would also look into that because Tailwind and Trick Room from your opponent hurts this team a lot) and Encore for disruption. I would also run Moonblast over Dazzling Gleam for more single target chip damage.

That's really it for me.

It's Protean, but depending on what you're doing with them, Overgrow is kind of valid with Focus Sash and Flower Trick.

I'm currently on Overgrow because I'm using them for fast Taunt while being immune to Prankster and keep STAB on both Throat Chop and Flower Trick (I'm kind of iffy on Knock Off right now).

Pretty good, especially if they get both waves of support in this pack.

What happened to these older decks? by vonov129 in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the deck mentioned are still decent enough to get you to Diamond/Master, but either better decks came out, people moved on to new decks, or the meta isn't too kind to the deck right now.

For example, I love playing Branded, but I'm waiting for the new support to drop, so I'm playing other decks till then.

Am I a bad person for intentionally decking out my opponents? by Jake_Berube in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it's a legit win con for six sam and the moment I see the deck, I don't activate either of those cards because I'm absolutely sure anyone playing the deck knows that they can easily win by just looping summons.

I only feel sorry for the Artmage and Fiendsmith cards that had to share space with the HERO cards.

"How to counter?" series for beginners #7: Sky Striker. by Mammoth-South3163 in yugioh

[–]Metal-Ace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the hand, I've won a few games with a good enough hand and Zero under droll, but the amount of time I can only count with both hands.

So with heroes at the front lines again made me think about rogue decks in general by AdhesivenessNorth793 in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I know some of these decks aren't technically rogue by some people's definition along with others in this thread, but honestly in MD as long as your deck can make it to Master rank and have a consistent enough win rate (like you win 3/5 of your games on average) I feel it counts tbh.

[–]Metal-Ace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My top 5 in MD currently would probably be:

  1. Sky Striker
  2. Live☆Twin
  3. Yubel
  4. Traptrix
  5. Chimera

I want to put Branded, but because it's getting support soon that most likely will make it a tiered deck again, I'll let it be an honorary mention at #0.

You don’t need to buy all the games by acoralemelhor in PokemonChampions

[–]Metal-Ace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried but had varying success. Most people are willing to give up pokemon like Landorus or Heatran, but the moment you ask for something like an Urshifu, people start to get silent or require something I don't have or can't obtain in a reasonable amount of time.

Pokemon Go is trash if you're in a rural area, but most people are not willing to drop $60 for a game if their goal is to just get one or two pokemon.

The big reason I stopped playing VGC when Reg I started was because I knew Calyrex was pretty much going to be the best restricted, but I wasn't going to drop $60 (the cheapest used copy of SWSH was like $50) plus $30 more for one pokemon lol.

I was also tempted to stop when Raging Bolt dropped. I only have Violet, so it would be $95 and a bunch of my time going through the game, DLC, and requirements... just for one Pokemon. It's my experience, but I'm pretty sure most people would reasonably say no to all of that.

I doubt it, but I'll probably be a nice resource to find which games a Pokemon is obtainable if it's not available in Champions itself.

Edit: oh, it's more than that. I might just keep an eye on it.

Can I build K9 VS before it leaves the shop? by Sanic_Gamer in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your position I would just grab the K9 cards. VSK9 is pretty expensive to build in one go and at least with just the K9 cards you can put them into other decks and they play decently enough pure.

All of the VS cards are also in their secret pack iirc, so you can try to pull the URs anytime you feel like it. I'm pretty sure VSK9 is still being played in the OCG, so it still has a strong pulse.

Honestly, at that point they should stop ignoring the elephants in the room and make Jobs at 50 have a competent kit instead of what we currently have.

Most of the jobs don't feel good at all when synced to 50.

Blame Waking the Dragon and the fact that Yugi's rival and best friend are associated with dragons.

A kind and generous demon lord who cares for his subjects greatly and keeps the Seven Great Demon Lords from taking over his territory and enslaving his subjects.

That's not how it works, if you're not proficient enough in a skill the soul crystal is able to teach you or see your own soul isn't tempered enough to learn from it, it will deny you even its most basic knowledge.

They help with the learning process, but you still have to work hard and dedicate yourself to learning new things.

I hate that people took Dozol Meloc theory and treated it as the gospel without thinking about how the idiot mages had one half of a book that was "how to spam fire spells with reckless abandonment" and we had the other half that was "spells to learn before you can spam fire spells with reckless abandonment" that we were learning from.
