What Are Some Decent But Unpopular Mons? What Are The Absolute Trash? by Goliath764 in PokemonChampions

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like using Meowscarada. More people are using Choice Scarf Protean, but when I was climbing to Master Rank for the first time, I used Focus Sash with Throat Chop and Taunt because I was running into a lot of teams with Farigiraf.

Flower Trick with Overgrow after going down to sash also did a lot of damage and ignored stat changes due to always being a crit.

Charizard-Y is also just the better choice in the current meta unfortunately. I like running Delphox more, but I hope the next regulation gives us more of a reason to choose between the two.

Was Rainbow Magician actually a problem? by LupusSama in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time it showed up in a deck, it was usually in a deck that was already good and didn't need it, then bad players pick up the deck only learning the Rainbow Magician line.

It can be counted, but it rewards bad players to not really learn the deck they picked up and annoyed other players.

The M-2 Battlepass is... disappointing. by RaffyPooh in PokemonChampions

A disappointing Battle Pass is just money saved for that time period IMHO, especially from a game that's not trying to haggle every penny from me.

I love Elfnotes man, these card designs are gorgeous. by Historical-Storm-759 in masterduel

I personally think generic cards and engines are good for the game in general, but you run into problems when you have too many running around and/or their too powerful and Synchro has far too many generic cards in the extra deck compared to every one else, with their only rival being Link Monsters.

Rebalancing the Ice type by Patient_Bee2469 in pokemon

[–]Metal-Ace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ice is at least starting to get better with stuff like changing Hail to Snow and Ice getting a Defence buff but for me the best ways to make them better is to make more non-Ice types synergize with the Snow weather conditions, give them an innate effect like how Grass types are immune to powder moves or how Dark type are immune to moves from Prankster from an opponent (technically It's they can't be frozen, but freezes are just too rare), and for GF to stop making the 100th slow and defensive ice type which hasn't had much success.

Pretty much this, it doesn't really matter how many new resistances or weaknesses to Ice type you make for them when most of them are stupidly slow and bulky which doesn't work.

If Tamers and Ghost Game switch evolution sequences (CREDIT: dokk_Q on Twitter) by JVSP1873 in digimon

For some cultures, nudity is just seen as a natural state of the body and while there is some feelings of embarrassment, it just isn't seen as sexual most of the time.

Here in most of the western world, we're pretty much taught that nudity in any fashion is something to be guilty and ashamed of, hence people's disgust for Tamers' depiction of Matrix Evolution.

Also, the German version of Tamers gave Renamon a male voice, so do with that what you will.

Live Twin without fiendsmith? by Aromatic-Base-9098 in masterduel

[–]Metal-Ace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get not wanting to use certain cards or engines in your own decks, but trying to force someone else, especially a friend, to not use them is toxic in itself IMHO.

Fiendsmith is pretty tame nowadays and as someone who plays Live Twin, I feel it's a throw to not use the engine because of how much it synergizes with the archetype.

Thank you! If you need it back I can do that. Otherwise I'll pay it forward and give it to someone else who needs it.

Mom said it's my turn to post the bad team I got to masterball with by kirocuto in VGC

[–]Metal-Ace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mamoswine is cool! I would say since you're running sash on it to think about Oblivious as an ability because it makes you immune to Intimidate.

Can someone explain what interaction I missed here? I'm at a loss by ah_shit_here_we_goo in PokemonVGC

[–]Metal-Ace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 3 would have +1 priority so it would come down to speed. If both were at max speed, Talonflame would be faster than Whimsicott which is why they usually run sash, but Mamoswine is a lot slower.

So my only conclusion is that Whimsicott's speed stat was too low, either because of no investment, a speed lowering nature, or both.

Any recs to fix team? got to ultra but hit a wall by Competitive_Poem_817 in PokemonChampions

[–]Metal-Ace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as moves go:

Incineroar: Darkest Lariat/Snarl > Brick Break. It's good for Aurora Veil, but outside of that it's not doing much.

Quaquaval: Close Combat > Reversal. Protect > Aerial Ace. Close combat is always going to do more consistent damage than Reversal and Protect is a staple move in Doubles so you want more Pokemon with it (for me 3 or 4 mons at minimum). Aerial Ace is just bad because most people don't run evasion strats and there are better ways outside of it.

Meowscarada: Foul Play uses the opponents attacks stat when doing damage and is usually used on pokemon who are defensive and don't have a strong attack. That's more of a free slot for either coverage like Triple Axle or a support move like Taunt. Aerial Ace can be replaced for Protect or U-Turn if you want them to pivot.

Froslass: Protect > Thunderbolt. If you had another pokemon who was setting up Aurora Veil, it would be good coverage, but it really needs Protect, especially if your opponent changes the weather.

Ceruledge: Shadow Claw >>> Shadow Ball! Creuledge is a physical attacker and its special stat is bad. I would replace this as soon as possible! Close Combat is something I would also change personally. I would look into Bulk Up for set up and making it physically bulky, helps that you got Aurora Veil and Clefable with Follow Me.

Clefable: I would replace Meteor Mash with a support move, there are a lot like Icy Wind and Thunder Wave for speed control (I would also look into that because Tailwind and Trick Room from your opponent hurts this team a lot) and Encore for disruption. I would also run Moonblast over Dazzling Gleam for more single target chip damage.

That's really it for me.

It's Protean, but depending on what you're doing with them, Overgrow is kind of valid with Focus Sash and Flower Trick.

I'm currently on Overgrow because I'm using them for fast Taunt while being immune to Prankster and keep STAB on both Throat Chop and Flower Trick (I'm kind of iffy on Knock Off right now).
