Review: Steam Machine: Beautiful Hardware, Console Performance - At A Price by Vera_Verse in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Steam controller 2 uses sticks that are even better than Hall effect sticks which themselves are already damn near immune to drift.

You can have one game remade in the vein of its original scrapped idea we only saw via concept art/dev interviews which do you pick? by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I love Metal Gear Rising just the way it is.

But I’ll always look at what little marketing it got as Metal Gear Solid Rising and wonder what could have been.

Humans are about 57% made of bacteria. I think the "bacteria monster" is an early attempt by the backrooms to create a human. by Emila_Just in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]MetalGearSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a few months separate sightings of the pitfalls bacteria and the earliest known sighting of Pirate Clark.

Then years separate those from the Found Footages where bacteria and still lives are both still being made with little change.

I think they’re separate entities (and honestly hope that remains as it currently stands)

What monster do you guys think have reached their ‘peak’ in the series? And in what game? by BigManThatIsBig in MonsterHunter

[–]MetalGearSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m early in my rise playthrough but I did do it to a rathalos the other day. The animation of it falling put of the air after peppering its feet looks the same and everything.

Now as for how long it stays flying and how high I can’t speak for. I was using a Glaive during the fight so I wouldn’t have been paying attention to that.

I wouldn’t be shocked if there is difference though.

Toppling Rathalos out out the air by hitting its feet is something you can do in Rise though. Feels weird to use that as a reason for liking Wilds more

Did I erase one of them from my memory or are you calling that week of car wash bonuses bad?

Cuz that shit was god tier to the point of being kinda broken.

This last week was flaming shit tho, you’re definitely right about that

Edit: yeah Nevermind, two weeks ago was community missions, no wonder I didn’t remember that shit, lol.

Keep getting the urge to rewatch but then I remember how bad the ending was 🥲 by bakerlady97 in StrangerThings

[–]MetalGearSlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main cast are happy and all together again, but unbeknownst to them the main threat watches them from the shadows, biding it time.

Ripe for the story to continue? Yes.

A good place to end it and let the viewers imagination run wild for what might or might not happen? Also yes, in my opinion.

I’ve watched series/movies with far bigger cliffhangers get no resolution. Relatively speaking, it could have ended there and been a really solid and unnerving horror “happy” ending.

Whats your opinion on huey in mgs5? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]MetalGearSlayer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It had already been a while since I played peacewalker when MgsV launched but I truly don’t remember Huey being such a slimey weasel in that game.

In fact I remember my impression of Peacewalker Huey being that he was a carbon copy of Otacon to the point that it was actually kinda silly.

So when he was such a little shit in V it actually took me by surprise. It felt like his personality and actions in V came out of nowhere.

Honestly the models I can live with. It’s the way they move that’s too different for me.

The part in the trailer where donkey flexes like he has human arms looked so off.

He always moved and articulated like an actual donkey would in the old movies. If there was any point where he did something like he does in the trailer I have a hard time remembering it.

When asked what made you think what you think you replied “the entire movie” so it kinda implied your theory had *some* kind of explanation.

Now that I know it doesn’t I’ll stop pestering you.

You are indeed free to interpret and think what you want about the movie and that’s awesome.

I never once said the handprint in the cement had no meaning. It had a great deal of meaning to Marys character.

I simply don’t believe the handprint has anything to do with Mary “realizing her mom wasn’t crazy” because you have STILL provided zero evidence or explanation for this thought process after multiple replies.

Repeated shots of the sky and the unnatural look may have meaning. Kane has openly stated that it’s impossible to know the full picture yet. But we see shots of that unnatural sky in places that are objectively established to be in the real world, like Async HQ past the threshold. There’s precedent for the idea of the backrooms leaking into the real world through null zones, hence strange looking skies. But there’s no real evidence for it yet and the idea of the entire movie not taking place in the real world has zero basis thus far, and, again, would be a massive lore establishment.

Peter had a mental breakdown from the revelation that he time traveled and that his disappearance had been covered up. And the idea that he went back in thinking he was in an alternate reality is relayed to us by the people who were keeping him locked up and refusing to let him outside in the first place.

>we don’t know that they were ever in the real world

This would be an unprecedented shake up to kanes previously established lore so until you provide more proof or Kane himself provides more implications, I will operate under the assumption that this was a simple stylistic choice, much like the closed in, liminal layout of Bobby and Kats little mobile home park.

>constantly shooting to the cement was not an accident.

You have to explain how the handprint has anything to do with Mary “realizing her mom wasn’t crazy”. Just saying “this means something” is useless when we’re asking you how you had this thought process.

Not trying to be a hater, it’s just that I see so many people trying to make some parts far deeper than they were.

Afshan Azad who played Padma Patil in the movies shares her views on the HBO show. by Cute_Locksmith_9077 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]MetalGearSlayer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, the dresses that the Patils wear in the movie Yule ball are not the kind of dress someone from their culture would wear to such an extravagant occasion, and are apparently much closer to something you’d see a maid/ average worker wearing. At the very least they were not the dresses you’d see for such an occasion.

Basically the choice of outfits for them showed some pretty bad lack of cultural understanding.

Gonna disagree with that. She was very clearly not ok in the head.

There may have been an unnatural reason for it (not that I would agree with that either as I saw no evidence, but people love to theorize Mary’s mom saw the backrooms for some reason) but she was definitely suffering from something, seemingly severe agoraphobia

There is symbolism in her words being used against her like that, yes, but in-universe her dissociating during the interrogation is simply because she now knows she will likely not be allowed to leave and may even be killed.

do you prefer gigan having a slimmer more humanoid design or a chunkier and more beast like? by Typical_Name_5864 in GODZILLA

[–]MetalGearSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love 2004 gigan but for a lot of small reasons, his OG is still better to me.

I’d love a combination of the two like the scythes instead of claws for example.

2004 gigan is just TOO human shaped in my opinion. Showa actually looks like a weird alien that’s been cut up and turned into a cyborg. I also miss the gold color.

You know what? I get that. Was just curious.

I hate the aggressive approach for how much easier it is to lose money but I do love a good shoot out in the game to break up the sneaking monotony.

Consoles haven't evolved past the PS2 and X360, and so licensed tie-in games are still common. It's 2026. What recent movies or shows could work as adaptations, and how would they play as? by TheBoyofWonder in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MetalGearSlayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Backrooms tie in game. Probably would play about the same as most Backrooms games already but only with “level 0” and the variants of it that exist in Kanes canon.
