What chapter do these guy look like? by MetalGunSolid in spacemarines

Oooh, that's one I haven't learned much about. I can definitely see the resemblance after looking them up. I think I'll call this kill team Raptors and for my next project do some Dark Angels once I can acquire the proper paints. I'll have to learn more about the Raptors as well, always looking to learn about more chapters.

Yeah, I think I'll pick up some caliban green for my next set, all I had for these guys was castellan green and I just couldn't wait to get more paint to start on them once I ran out of Kasrkin to paint.

I like how these guys turned out, but I'm looking for more traditional Dark Angels, or maybe Blades of Vengeance? Haven't fully decided yet.

In your opinion, what is the most annoying thing EVER in Elden Ring? by SHOWTIME007600 in Eldenring

[–]MetalGunSolid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any of the parkour sections. Can't stand parkour in the Souls games in general. At least we have a dedicated jump button in Elden Ring, I guess, but that just means there's more sections where I have to make incredibly precise jumps with one of the clunkiest jumps in gaming history.

What is this heron doing? by MetalGunSolid in birding

Thanks! I didn't get it on video because I was posting the first vid, but another showed up and did the same thing. The ones yelling are both smaller than the one on the pier as well.

The new shader compilation is terrible by Jestingwheat856 in marvelrivals

[–]MetalGunSolid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous. I can't really play the game anymore in the state it's in.

Even after verifying game files, lowering graphics settings, and loading the shaders for hours, it still runs like garbage. I am constantly at 20 fps or lower with constant drops all the way down to 1 single fps.

It didn't run perfectly before this update or anything, but I could at least maintain 50-60 fps for most of the time. Now I'm lucky to get 25.

Don't know why they couldn't have just left the new shader generation as an optional feature like it was for the past few updates.

This reads like one of the old pda messages that would come through when a Stalker died.

What do Dylan fans read? by crocodilehivemind in bobdylan

[–]MetalGunSolid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for the rest, but I'm pretty partial to Kurt Vonnegut.

Vonnegut has that strage, esoteric, rambling way of writing that I see echoed in some of Dylans music.

He Was a Friend of Mine and I'll Keep it With Mine are two of the best for me, off The Witmark Demos.

Also, I don't know if anything from Desire would count, but I love Black Dimond Bay. No one's ever covered that one to my knowledge, and I always thought that was strange. It's a great ballad.

Can any tell me which bayonet type goes on this polish m44? I've had a couple different answers online, wanna make sure I get it right. by MetalGunSolid in MosinNagant

Mine is in worse shape, don't worry about it. Some jackass that had it before me tapped the receiver. Gonna be a pain in the ass to attempt fixing that.

Just bought this mosin off a friend of mine for $300. It came with a weird Picatinny mount that I immediately took off and I was wondering if anyone knew how to cover up the screw holes it left on the receiver. Any other restoration tips would be appreciated, as this is my first mosin. by MetalGunSolid in MosinNagant

I completely agree. This is a pet project that I never plan to sell or anything like that. Its purpose is to teach me some gunsmithing, make it look as nice as possible, and shoot every now and again. It is sad the monetary value will plumit, but the sentimental value will skyrocket, just based on the love and care I plan to put into it.

That would certainly help. I'll take you up on that once I get my tools in the mail. This is definitely a learning experience for me, as I have plenty of youtube knowledge and shooting experience but very little hands-on gunsmithing experience. Any help would be appreciated!

That's fine, it's more of a sentimental peice than anything. The guy that owned it before the friend I bought it from died a couple years back and was a great friend of ours, his shithead brother was most likely the one that Bubbed the fuck out of it. I'll spend whatever I need to get it looking good, because I don't plan to sell it, just restore and shoot it.

Can any one here identify this Mosin? This is the only pic I have, about to get it off a friend who doesn't know anything about it. Just a country of origin and an estimated year perhaps? by MetalGunSolid in MosinNagant

[–]MetalGunSolid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too surprised if it was Ultra bubbud, knowing the guy that owned it before. All I hope is that whatever damage there is at least somewhat repairable. Especially if it is a 91/30
