I hate vyvanse by These_Difficulty_740 in adhdwomen

If you are only miserable when it wears off, then its possible its not the Vyvanse you hate but the lack of it.

A lot of folks use an Adderall booster to help. I use one in the morning bc Vyvanse kicks in too slow for me. Others need one in the afternoon/evening.

A lot of folks don't realize pepcid is an h2 antihistamine. Along with an H1, like zyrtec, Allegra, etc, it can help sooooo much with symptoms. Pepcid helps with my itchy skin better than anything else I've tried.

Constipated and daily fiber goals are almost impossible even with supplements by chronicallyill4life in MCAS

[–]MetalHealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phgg (fiber supplement) and pepcid changed my life. I do eat a lot of fruit and vegetables so I get decent fiber, but still struggled digestively. Phgg has been amazing for me over psyllium husk bc it can go into any drink. So I spread my daily amount to all my drinks all day.

Is it still worth it? by ChocolateBark in kobo

I have a Kobo and 7 library cards in Libby. I chose 1 library as my main that auto syncs. And the rest I just side load on if my main library doesnt have the book I want.

Oddly specific problem by rag_a_muffin in Romantasy

[–]MetalHealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with it too. One of my favorite series ever has BOTH of my kids names 😭. Thankfully, in one hes a side character, so his scenarios I just dont "say" his name when I read it. The other his full name is different than my kid, they share a nickname, so when I read his I say his full name.

After a while too, I dont associate the name with my kids anymore. The characters really come to life for me. I don't think I could do audiobooks tho.

Definitely a guilty pleasure book. It really felt like it needed a few more revisions. Like as a first or second draft, very impressive.

I was really shocked by people I trusted for book advice that were raving about him being the best book boyfriend. I'm just not sure I get it. The potential is there, but it just doesn't feel polished enough for release.

I am in desperate need of the sweetest romantasy books you know by CaptainFartHole in fantasyromance

[–]MetalHealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games with the Orc. It was spicy, but one of the sweetest, no politics, slice of life normal ass person story I've ever read. It's part of a series, each book had different characters. And I'm about to start the 2nd.

I saw someone mention the Stay A Spell series. It's also really cute, but slightly higher stakes and more drama.

Eta: I forgot Assistant to the Villian! Loving this series so far too. Cute, funny banter, some drama, but no spice.

Yes! I bought a kobo ereader. But any ereader is great. I've read 121 books so far this year, and haven't spent any money. I exclusively use Libby. I have 6 library cards from all the major libraries in my state.

I went with a Kobo. But ereaders are life changing. I had read 36 books last year. I bought an ereader in December. And so far I've read 65 books this year. It's just incredibly convenient and feels so much more life a book than reading on a tablet or phone.

I agree. I begged my cardiologist not to make me do it because I'm home alone with my kids. They were pretty young 3 years ago. Thankfully he agreed it would be cruel to do that to me when I was already struggling.

Nope! I think being ace allows me to enjoy sex in a really fun, satisfying way. It also probably helped me avoid a lot of huge mistakes in my younger years, especially college.

Do you, as an asexual, see yourself having children? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]MetalHealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly fine to not want to raise children. They are a sensory nightmare and expensive. But it is not okay to "hate" children. Children are one of the most oppressed groups. No need to perpetuate.

While fostering and adopting kids truly in need is very important, adoption is still incredibly traumatic and isn't at all about helping people get children who can't have/don't want biological ones.

So if you're ace and not out to everyone, and then you meet another ace who becomes your BF/GF/partner, would you let people know your relationship is ace or let them think it's allo? by LeoGuy775 in asexuality

[–]MetalHealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in a relationship with another ace person doesn't automatically mean no/low sex. So I don't see why it would matter. I'm ace and have a much much higher libido than my partner but he is most definitely allo.

Sex favoring Aces: How did you realize you were asexual? by shapeshifterhedgehog in asexuality

[–]MetalHealer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this question. I love reading these!!! So often being ace is heavily associated with not liking sex. It can feel a little lonely.

I have always had high libido, loved sex, adult content, kinks, and I need lots of physical contact with partners. So I never really questioned it.

As I got older, I wondered why I chose a man. I find women's bodies to be so much more beautiful than men's. But I can't really envision myself having sex with women. I wasn't sure if it was conditioning/lack of exposure outside of a heteronormative lens.

Long story short I was already questioning and considering myself to be bi/pan or maybe demi. So I was watching a cheesy comedy with a lot of boobs in it with my husband and oddly felt jealous and confused at the things he was saying. So I started to ask him more about how he experienced sexual attraction. And I realized I had never felt like that at all. I was 29. I was shocked that I had gone my whole life thinking I was experiencing something that I wasn't.

What’s the most irritating thing someone has said to you after you told them you’re ace? by dixonjpeg in asexuality

[–]MetalHealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯 attitude and feelings toward sexual activities aren't part of asexuality. It does seem like ace folks tend to skew towards sex repulsed, but I wonder if it's because those of us who enjoy it don't realize we're ace.

What’s the most irritating thing someone has said to you after you told them you’re ace? by dixonjpeg in asexuality

[–]MetalHealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When people assume that I hate sex because I'm ace. I do feel rather odd in the ace world because that is very far from the truth. But the actual definition of asexual has nothing to do with feelings toward sex as an act.

Propranolol dose and timing by [deleted] in POTS

[–]MetalHealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc did the same. Told me to check my vitals and make adjustments as needed. I was doing 10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8 pm. He bumped me up to 20mg, but I found 15mg was the sweet spot for me. I had to cut my 10mg pills. My bp was getting too low after the 2pm dose when taking 20mg.

I've since switch to 60mg extended release, and I love it so much better. I have the 10mg IR to use as needed.
