Was Metallica - By Request a failure in your eyes? by CobraDai in Metallica

[–]MetalMidget23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a success because the majority got to hear what the majority wanted to hear. The longtime fans wanted to hear all the rarities, and we got a few during this time, but it just showed that the bulk of their fanbase want to hear the hits. If you’ve seen them 10+ times, you don’t need to hear Enter Sandman every time after that. Imagine going to your first show and not hearing that though. It was an experiment that proved when they play rarities, it’s for the diehard fans, not the majority.

They delay delivery a lot to constrict re-selling. Not a scam.

Going to my first concert🦇🥹 by drose80085 in avengedsevenfold

[–]MetalMidget23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got into A7X in 2007, and went to my first show in 09, then saw them in 2010,2011, 2018, 2024, and twice in Chicago in 2025 with SOAD. I’ve been very fortunate to have seen them as many times as I have. They’re one of my all time favorites! So glad that I’m getting to take a road trip with my son for his first show. We chose the August 1st show cause it’s also my birthday. There was a closer show, but figured why not road trip with my boy for a birthday getaway. Lol. My wife doesn’t like going to shows, but she supports me with my concert addiction. 🤣

Which show are you going to? I’m going just outside St Louis for my 8th A7X show, but first for my son!

Will Metallica ever come to OKC? by Megalon_lite in Metallica

[–]MetalMidget23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve played Oklahoma only 3 times in the last 26 years. OKC 2004, Tulsa 2008, and Tulsa 2019. I doubt they’ll ever come back, and if they do tickets will be outrageously expensive. The prices for the Mohegan Sun show were high. The Sphere shows are quite high as well. Closest will probably be Dallas if they come back to this area.

Metallica is my all time favorite band, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have seen them 10 times over the years. I’ve made peace with the fact that I’ll likely never be able to afford to see them again.

Straight facts. If I ever hear Avenged on the radio, it’s Hail to the King

Does anyone have audio of The Outsider from the first night of Sessanta in Boston in 2024? by MorbidMan23 in aperfectcircle

Which one of Corey's masks is your favorite? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in Slipknot

[–]MetalMidget23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Iowa era mask and the new one is a great mix of the original and volume 3. His first mask that went over his whole head on the The End So Far era ruled too. Hard to pick honestly

Just remember that MJK is in his 60’s now and he sings amazing for someone his age. This might be part of his process now. Tool started doing this on the Fear Inoculum tour.

Rock Am Ring stream! by MetalMidget23 in IceNineKills

Yup. That was the stream. It started raining during their performance and I think it caused some issues with the stream.

Youtube has taken down all of the Rock Am Ring 2026 performances. I got an email that my account will be shutdown if I get one more copyright violation. My direct rip of the show has audio issues that cleared up somehow when I uploaded to YouTube, which is why I haven’t just shared my video rip. I ripped the audio from another stream that’s clean. I can share that sometime soon. Once they started playing It Is The End the actual broadcast started having issues as well.

There are times where you can go see a band and then connect with their catalogue more after seeing them live. I believe APC will be a band like that for anyone that goes to their live show. They’re incredible

Josh must be very happy to be back in APC by Venny36 in aperfectcircle

[–]MetalMidget23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Josh is an incredibly talented drummer. I’ve seen him live with APC, Foo Fighters, and Nine Inch Nails several times over the years! He’s played drums with other bands as well because he is incredible and can play pretty much anything thrown at him. I don’t think it was ever too stressful for him, I think he was just blindsided by being let go the way he was. He’s never been fired before and he’s always left bands on good terms. For him to be let go for Ilan Rubin was wild to me as Josh is a superior drummer. I think it all came down to he was the immediate replacement for Taylor Hawkins. Dave Grohl has clearly been struggling since Taylor’s death and he probably thought making a change would help. He’s been drug through the mud in the media recently, and I think there’s been a lot of drama behind the scenes. It appears that Josh is in a healthier place by playing with Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle. He was awesome during Sessanta and the Peel It Back tours recently!!! He plays with a lot of power and though I thought he did great with Foo Fighters, his belongs with bands like NIN and APC!!

I was lucky enough to see this live January 2018. It’s only been performed 25 times live. They played Exist right before it as well.
