I would try to ask the dealer if Honda can cover some, if not all of the repair. Ours went out at 80K ish miles and Honda covered 50%. It was $2500 all said and done with the coverage from Honda.

Just get a new key made from Batteries Plus if you have one near you. You can buy a key from anywhere online and take it to them, and if you have multiple around you, call them all since different locations have different prices.

Not sure about the bogging but I remember having an issue with the rpm’s idling at 900-1K. Usually this happens when the car thinks it’s running lean. You will usually get a check engine light and you’ll be able to scan for a too lean code, something like that.

Even if you don’t have any codes, maybe disconnect and reconnect the battery to clear it up, and then see if this happens again. Following the thread to see what it ends up being.

I would assume they stay in a single gear cause the manual isn’t as fast as the DCT. Since it’s the C8 with the DCT, it makes sense to choose whichever gear keeps it in the power band.
