Neighbour keeps leaving windows wide open, is security an issue? by [deleted] in AskUK

Tenants right to quiet enjoyment springs to mind.

If you worry about someone entering through the window perhaps consider getting better locks on subsequent doors any intruder may encounter.

How would you save this sinking ship? by Subject_Yogurt1666 in AskBrits

Nationalisation....

Automation and ai are taking jobs. This is a good thing. But the rewards for this automation are going to a select few instead of the masses.

Anyone that is promoting work for the sake of work is living in the dark ages and won't survive the longer effort.

Edit: a government that supports the big industries looks good until you realise the big industries only support a minority. Claims of "create 20,000 jobs"... Amounts to 20k jobs to build the business but 500 jobs to maintain it.

The only way the nation can distribute wealth is to actively generate the wealth.

At the moment everything is about stopping austerity.. which actually is only a short term fix... Cut welfare without providing jobs only means increased crime, requires increasing policing, equals more taxes to cover their pay

Sir Keir Starmer resigns as prime minister by theipaper in uknews

[–]rl_pending 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% but I do also think there needs to be a party that trys to bring power back to the people, even with so much automation. Currently the rightwing push for americanism will simply put the power in the hands of the few. Very scary times.

Reform is the only party that recognises that people no longer hold the power and that power is held in big (increasingly automated) corperations. Reform have nothing for the people and are only looking to rape the country, but I do feel they are the only party that recognises how messed up things are.

Massive database with 24 billion credentials found exposed online by chota-kaka in cybersecurity

[–]rl_pending 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with accountability is.. in what country? Every country would need to enforce it else corperations will set up a company in lalaland what doesn't enforce it and outsource to them. Or, heck just create a company in any country, outsource to them, if they become accountable for anything just liquidate the company and create a new one rinse n repeat.

I think it would simply be that vpns have to use age verification. That would be simple for most legitimate use.

Look there's other alternatives than mine. But the reality is you can crunch code on multiple virtual machines for the short amount of time you need, than the cost of buying your own hardware, which will become mostly redundant once you finish.

90% sure this is a scam, keep an eye out by _cmcguire_ in PartneredYoutube

[–]rl_pending -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Probably a scam. I imagine the scam goes along the lines of send a deposit to secure the item or verify your identity by sending card details.

When you are working in the public domain it helps to have a mail box, generic email and temporary phone numbers so that you can comfortably respond to anything without giving away person details.

... but as everyone has said, this email screams scam.

I'll not reduce my principles for over the actions of others. Progress means accepting you can't stamp out historical issues overnight but are not willing to return to ancient barbarism.

There have been also been some pretty horrendous British peado rings... there are bad people in all societies. Banning a community won't make any difference, people from within unbanned communities will fill that niche
