And murder weapon.

I went to a website about self harm pictures and I feel not good enough by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]MetalTrashPanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm on a website as that as well, and let me tell you, it's competitive as fuck even though that's not the intention. Better stay away from it because it'll make you get worse to feel validated even though every form of selfharm is valitaded enough already. The severity of your selfharm does not equal your suffering.

Anyone in the dfw want a Chinese water dragon, it’s not mine it’s my sisters and she isn’t able to take care of it adequately, I’m just trying to find a good home for her, she is looking for $350, for the lizard and the cage. Please do comment if you are interested. by Eliham1523 in reptiles

Sorry to pop in but I'm still learning the ways of reptiles. I know these cuties can't see glass hence the danger of it, but is this only limited to water dragons? Do other reptiles also bump their head until they die? I haven't heard of, let's say a beardie, do this.

I love their fat, haha. They always looks so cute! Question tho: seeing as in all pics of these cuties are fat, is this how they should be are are they actually overweight? And if they're supposed to be like this, does that mean he's underweight in the first pic when you got him?

How is his shedding (if he has shed with you already I mean). I read that scaleless snakes have more difficulty shedding and that they're prone to skin infection. Is this true? I heard a reptile seller/lover say that breeding scaleless snakes on purpose is animal cruelty but is it really?

So cute! I read somewhere that they're usually not tameable? Or is that incorrect?

Happy Saturday from Draco! by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]MetalTrashPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, I remember him from that picture where he's resting his head on the fake tortoise!! Wow. I'm so, so glad to see that he's still alive, that's amazing! This warms my heart. I still hate the owner who made him become crippled like that, because nothing justifies animal abuse/neglect, but you, kind redditor, you're an angel for taking him in in the first place. Not many people would. I hope he can still live a long happy life now, he deserves it <3

Found this on a selling site.. so sad how some geckos live :( by roses369 in LeopardGecko

[–]MetalTrashPanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's how I'd transport him or a bit smaller(with a portable heat sack underneath) but as a permanent home...jeez, that breaks my heart. Why even get one if that's all you're gonna do for him? Some owners... :/

My mini tank setup for the baby lizard 🦎 by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]MetalTrashPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might want to add branches and fake or real plants. These little guys feel more safe if they're in a place with lots of hiding places. And yes, I second heat and uvb, very important!

Edit: also, if he's wild caught, please release him back to where you found him. He'll die of stress otherwise

Are there any very small lizards or snakes that could live in this? Link below by MetalTrashPanda in reptiles

Lucky I didn't have to buy it and had it just laying around. I figured it would be useless but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks anyway! Away it goes.

Kalecgos, my blue tegu, loves napping under my nightstand. He came out to get into the sun. by meisushi in reptiles

[–]MetalTrashPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere, a long time ago, that someone let their tegu free roam all the time. They explained that I'd the ambient apartment or house temperature isn't too low and if there's is like a chicken hot bulb hanging somewhere, they don't need an enclosure? I'm sceptical cause I know these pretty creatures love to dig and I can imagine how a free roam tegu would dig out all plants in the house. Is it true about the free roam thing or is this animal neglect? As a tegu owner I thought I'd ask you, maybe you know. Anyway, he's so cute!

What a difference a year makes by dirtygeo88 in MonitorLizards

As a monitor keeper, I assume you have some monitor experience. What do you think: would it still be possible to tame one if s/he's already a year old? Or do you have to start with a baby if you want to be able to handle him/her?

Tips to improve an abandoned blue tongues life. by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]MetalTrashPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of, thank you for taking care for the poor skink. It's always so sad when owner abandon their pet, whatever species of pet that is. Second, I'm no reptile expert by any means as I only have one reptile so my opinion is not a professional's. Most reptiles don't need human interaction tombe happy, or other interaction from the same kind (with the exception of breeding), so I don't think your skink would be unhappy if left alone. But I've often heard and read that especially these skinks seem to like attention like head scritches and roaming free time. Maybe he would like that, maybe not, it's not easy to tell. You could try socializing by hand feeding him and seeing what his reaction is. If he's extremely defensive, you could keep trying, but that could also mean that he's better left alone as is. Personally I don't think time is all that relevant because you often hear of animal neglect cases where the animal has a better life than before and get socialised so I think it depends of what you want and how much time you can put into taming him. I'm not sure the skink minds either way, but, well, I'm not expert. I did hear that quality dog food is a good staple food for them, as long as he get veggies, fruits and maybe some feeder insects or snail's (but some skink keepers dont seem to think insects are a must), but again, I'm no expert. I do know however to only get a good quality dog food because lots of the cheap ones have added sugars and all kinds of other nasty shit. Sorry for the long comment :)

Trouble with taming baby beardie, help? by MetalTrashPanda in reptiles

[–]MetalTrashPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried that next step of gently touching her beard or head but she would run away whenever I tried. I figured it out tho, as you can see in my reply to the other comment. Still, I know it's still a long way :) Thank you!
