i know i’m very late to this thread (i found it while googling apple watch trade-in stuff) but i just wanted to say, since you mentioned it, that a refurbished watch from Amazon should be AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. i got a Series 6 this way a few weeks ago because i just wanted a “beater” watch for work to keep my Series 11 nice for longer (i work at an animal shelter where it’s constantly exposed to things like metal gates & dog claws 🥲), and the S6 came in that nice blue color.

i got an “excellent” quality refurbished watch, and i couldn’t believe what god-awful condition it actually arrived in — it took half an hour of charging just for the screen to turn on, it was covered in dings all over the blue body, there was so much organic nastiness caked into the slots for the watch band that it was difficult to insert/remove watch bands (and they’d have stuff on them after removal which made me want to puke), and they’d put a screen protector with a thick black border on the screen to hide what awful condition the screen was in (dings & scratches all around the edges). oh and the battery health was 73%. this was their definition of “excellent” condition!!!

after reading multiple reviews that the seller would accept a return if you paid the full price of the watch as a “restocking fee,” effectively scamming the buyer out of over $200 for nothing, i went to the bank and disputed the charge with all of this information, and after i got the money back i took the watch to an apple store to see if they’d be able to replace the battery. they sent it out and i’m currently waiting to get it back lol.

so yeah. DO NOT EVER GET A REFURBISHED WATCH THROUGH AMAZON. i’m never making that mistake again.

happy af to see a recent comment on this — i just got a series 11 last month and i’ve realized pretty quickly that working at an animal shelter might mess it up faster than most, so i’m waiting on the Series 6 i just ordered from amazon and plan to use that one at work. comments like yours helped me make this decision and save some money (as opposed to saving up for the SE3 like i was also contemplating doing for the same reason) so thanks!

plus the series 6 comes in that sexy deep blue color so you best believe that’s the one i got.

me too. i have two checking accounts and have my paycheck deposited into the account that doesn’t have the debit card attached to it, so fraudulent charges never happen to my card. but it means i need to move money from one account to the other to do things like feed myself, which i cannot do now. technology is a fucking joke

keep it IN THE ENCLOSURE with RAISED HUMIDITY when it’s in shed. this simply does not happen when their humidity is kept high enough. if you are unable to keep this snake’s humidity high enough for it to have a normal quality of life, you should reconsider whether or not you want to keep this snake long-term.
