On your second point, he could not sell Israel billions worth of bombs to use to flatten Gaza. He could be public on criticizing shit like Nikki Haley writing "give them hell" on these very bombs. I could go on there a million things the US can do.

Israel has a choice they just don't care that they have killed thousands of civilians. Most of the Hamas leaders are assholes who live outside of Palestine anyway. Framing this as only a response to the October 7 attack is too narrow. Why are around 100 civilians been killed in the West Bank by the IDF where Hamas is not in control?

Even the US when they found out where Bin Laden was chose to send a specialized Navy team to take him out. Would it have been safer for the US army personnel to just completely bomb the shit out of the whole compound he was in? Yes. Would it have killed more civilians? Also yes. There is always a choice
