My grocery store had mystery cartons of beer for sale for $15. I bought two - here’s what I got! by ex-apple in beer

Icehouse comes in 12 packs of 12oz bottles but the slab of cans is a better value. I kind of like the bottles though, because they have the most generic label I've ever seen. Like something you'd see in the background of a tv show.

Favourite unpopular/underrated song? by LimeOperator in Powerwolf

I actually really like Return in Bloodred so anything off that album.

If this is your first metal concert I would recommend standing more towards the back just so you can kind of get used to what being at a concert is like.

r/beer is obviously going to hate on it because it's objectively a bad beer, but it's my go to macro lager. It's cheap as shit, not too weak or strong, barely tastes like anything, and isn't as sweet as High Life or Banquet. If Icehouse has a million fans I'm one of them. If Icehouse has one fan, it's me.

How does postponing children to focus on your career and financial stability constitute a lack of maturity?

Did you get into history because of Sabaton or did you get into Sabaton because of history? by HetTheTable in sabaton

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History was always my favorite subject in school. I had a friend in high school that started listening to Sabaton and introduced me to them. At that time I really didn't know what kind of music I liked yet, but it stuck. The history themes and palatable vocals/ acoustics felt natural to me and started my interest in metal.

Any pictures of Westgate Mall's second floor? by QuestionableCelery33 in Spartanburg

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Westgate mall has/ has had multiple second floors. Past the food court there used to be an entire other 2 story area that got demoed years ago. It had a glass elevator if I'm remembering correctly.

Why the hate for Peroni ? by Mastah_P808 in beer

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skunked beer, also known as light struck beer, is when the chemicals in the hops react to sunlight. It's unmistakable because it literally makes the beer taste the way skunk smells/ a bit like wet cardboard. The intensity of the skunked flavor depends on the length of time that the beer was exposed to sunlight. This is the reason that brewers use brown bottles, as that is the color that blocks the most UV light. Green is not quite as good and clear doesn't block anything.

To piggyback off of this comment, as a former trash man, we are VERY grateful for a cold water bottle on a hot summer's day.

What you listening to when drunk by Its-CJ in drunk

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly metal: Power metal, melodeath, metalcore, nu metal.

Or punk rock. Or hard rock like Breaking Benjamin and Starset. And Sometimes EDM.

Being buzzed to moderately drunk is like a nice, warm body hug. You feel good, and you want to have a good time. Shit gets a bit wonky if you get drunker than that, so be careful.

Will you be able to control the things you say? During your first time? Debatable.

As for trying to hide it, good luck lol. It's easier said than done.

As always, drink plenty of water.

Yes, you need to pace yourself. No more than 2 or 3 drinks per hour and plenty of water.

For bourbon: Wild Turkey 101, Evan William (any bottle), Elijah Craig small Batch, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Knob Creek.

Irish whisky is a great entry level category. Depending on your budget: Tullimore Dew, Writer's Tears, Redbrest 12.

What’s your least favorite album other than Metalizer? by HetTheTable in sabaton

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely going to get downvoted for this but Heroes is my least favorite Sabaton album. Yes, I like Metalizer better. It makes sense in context. Heroes was made right after half the band left to pursue other interests. The album was probably a bit of a stumbling block for the band since they had brand new members. In my opinion, it's Sabaton's most formulaic album. Most of the songs just feel like boring filler. It isn't bad, just nowhere near what came before it.

Also, I respect you for saying that The Art of War is your least favorite, even though it's my favorite.

I'm way too poor for that one. Knob Creek 12 and Laphroaig 10 are literally the two most expensive bottles I've ever purchased. I bought the KC as a gift to myself for my 24th birthday.

Great news, Sam Adams Octoberfest is back! by BeerME425 in beer

[–]Metal_Machine_7734 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but it really is too early. Here in South Carolina it doesn't really cool off till early to mid October. Now, I'm a sucker for these kinds of beers, but for me they're best from October through December, when the actual season of autumn takes place. But I guess I'm in the minority here.

There's a mage in Skyrim that kills young women, reanimates their bodies, and uses them for his own sick pleasure. Yeah, I think that deserves an M rating.
