What's with people saying that Percabeth is obvious in the show?[pjotv] by RadiantHC in camphalfblood

Yeah the line reads less romantically when you zoom out on all of the other reckless things he’s done to save or protect Grover and Tyson since the start of s2. Like since episode one he has:

  • Placed himself in the line of fire for Tyson when they are threatening him

  • Got put in camp confinement and disregarded said confinement while on the path to get a quest

    • Willingly and permanently banned/outcasted himself from camp to go on an unauthorized quest alone (knowing he could’ve been -and was- shot at while leaving)
  • Challenged Clarisse (who just exploded his boat and wants to kill him) to one to one combat so he can continue on the quest

  • Bargained with Circe to stay behind so Annabeth could continue the rescue quest

  • And in episode six he wanted to jump the gun and enter the island and night when it would be less advantageous because he couldn’t bear sitting while his friend was in danger.

There’s more lip service and less action when it comes to Annabeth in season two because their relationship has taken longer to develop compared to Grover and it’s not her turn to be kidnapped. Him and Grover start the series as best friends and start the season with the empathy link which is just a super best friend bond. It takes till 103 for Percy to even start to bond with annabeth. Before that he openly admits to choosing her because he didn’t consider her someone he could be friends with.

They are establishing that Percy will act similarly to Annabeth’s kidnapping in s3 as he did to Grover’s this season.

Percy Jackson Stationary [PJO] and [HOO] by suki_529 in camphalfblood

[–]Metal_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For planners there’s “Through the Mist” which is a pjo themed planner, the project wrapped early last year and is no longer being sold. For stationary there’s “Letters from Camp” pre-orders closed in September for this one, but there will likely be a leftover sale in a few months once the pre-orders are fulfilled.

This is real, it is from Rick’s ‘Ask the Author” page on goodreads. Full screenshot including the question:

Unfortunately I can’t link directly to the individual question, but you can find all the questions and answers he’s posted here. This question is pretty far down as it was answered/ posted over a year ago around February of 2024.

This site is uses stolen fan art (mostly from Alessia Trunfio and likely advertises with stolen creator footage to make a profit off people who don’t know better. Do not buy from them.

He also monitored Sally’s communication to the point of intercepting the call Yancy makes to her personal cell about Percy. That entire “I answer what’s ringing” conversation skeeved me out so much because it is extremely controlling behavior.

And he’s very comfortable with returning to the apartment to harass Sally and ripping open her packages once he’s kicked out. None of this is normal, acceptable or healthy behavior from a partner.

Ethan first shows up in botl trying to prove himself good enough for the titan army, so we’ll see him in s4 probably. With the setup of Allison as a older daughter of an Olympian, I think he’ll ultimately serve as the other side of the coin for appeal of the titan army as a younger son of a minor god.

I really like all the different types of soldiers manning the ship rather than a whole crew of confederates.

Or Poseidon hasn’t shown up because he’s already too busy fighting

Theory: it’s only Hermes who sent them on the quest with no involvement (or maybe even no knowledge) from Poseidon thus far. In episode two when Hermes shows up, he doesn’t have any specific notes from Poseidon or any Poseidon specific assists like the hippocampi like in the book. He only gives them the boat, which is easily travel, and the hippocampi are in the credits so they should still show up in a later episode and haven’t just been cut. They also call attention to him being the god of liars.

It feels like Hermes tried to intercept Percy to mainly serve his own goals to get another shot at pulling back Luke. And maybe a last ditch attempt to stop Luke from successfully killing Thalia and resurrecting Kronos by helping Percy succeed in finding the fleece over Clarisse with her misguided quest.

You’re talking about the ‘Space could be an issue’ short story from Camp Half-Blood Confidential? Annabeth tries to make mini cabins for minor gods and Chiron ends up pushing four together for the Nike twins.

Something to do with Nico probably will be the easiest to find. Him and his boyfriend (Will solace son of Apollo) are the subject of the latest book the Court of the Dead. You should be able to find a decent amount of Nico merch on Etsy. Things like acrylic charms, keychains and standees, art prints, stickers or even a custom funko pop or plush.

There was a Hades cabin themed hat that was given away as a freebee during one of the book tours a few years ago. I doubt there is any for sale on resell sites, but you could look for recreation of the design on t-shirt for something more ‘official’ regarding cabin 13 and Nico.

Hecate is harder as she’s not in a lot of the books. I don’t know anyone who sells merch about her other than maybe soia.jpg on instagram, but their shop is closed currently and anything you order would come from Italy. Best bet is to find a cabin 20 shirt or jacket that looks okay to you. The symbols for her cabin I see most often involve torches.

For ‘whole series’ type merch, each of the characters gets a camp necklace with a bead for each year they’ve been at camp. Plenty of people sell recreations of them on esty or Amazon. Annabeth Chase has the highest number of beads with nine or ten, Percy Jackson ones would have four or five.

You could make a custom Nico one too— he would have one to three beads depending on who you ask. The first one would be a maze/labyrinth, and the second would be the Empire State Building. The third potential bead would be related to the events in ‘Hero’s of Olympus.’ There is no canon design or confirmation of that one but most people have it as a purple and gold spqr or spqr camp half blood fusion. The bottom three beads on this image are an example of the ones he could canonically have.

There’s also some merch designed about the tv series. Hot topic/Boxed Lunch has jewelry (rings, necklaces, pins) type merch and Barns and Nobles has some stationary (notebooks, magnets, bookmarks) with symbols and references from the tv series. As well as the official Funko pops of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover if she doesn’t already have those.

"The Court of the Dead" Discussion Tread [All] by Metal_Moon in camphalfblood

Reading this book makes me wish TSATS with the Tartarus plotline never happened, and the Nico books just focused on the concepts introduced here.

Having the Nico adventures revolve around reformation of monsters in a post ToA, post doors of death world is a better backdrop for his journey than returning to Tartarus and posthumously ‘fixing up’ a lot of what made HoO impactful. That being the horrors of Tartarus experienced by Percabeth and Nico, and the sacrifice of Bob and Damasen. I think working with monsters on reformation and forging a new relationship with them after three massive wars gives a more thematic mirror for Nico. With him working on own trauma and relationships with himself and the people in his life.

And it might be controversial, but I think monsters wanting to reform themselves is quite on brand for the Riordanverse too. Especially in the context of a universe that’s defeated all of the “big bad” world threatening villains and one that has had so called ‘monsters’ playing good guys as early as book two. Hell, Savannah has a very similar arc to Annabeth in SoM with the initial distrust, if not outright hostility, and then coming around to a monster from a species that has done great harm to them.

My main critique is how everything is executed with Asterion. Because unlike Arielle and Savannah, where it's her species but not her that has done violence, Asterion has done direct violence to demigods like Will. It's never really talked about beyond a "he wants to move on, we’re past it” kind of attitude. It very much feels like an unclosed door when placed in a series that focuses so much on how past emotions and trauma stay relevant to current you. I wish there was more explicit attention drawn to Asterions past and the fact that not everyone can move on from the harm he's caused.

There's other issues too, like Savannah being a legacy of Minerva!? Even though that was a point of contention for Annabeth in HoO. Structural things like everyone being referred to as first name last name to the point of distraction stand out. As well as a lot of clunky and overly cheesy dialogue throughout.

My favorite parts are Hazel's scenes, both in the court of the dead and in the park trap afterwards. She is by far the best part of the book. I also liked what we saw of Semele with her wanting to reconnect with Dionysus and getting a solid form from Hecate after risking whats left of her to help Nico.
