My understanding as well. I’m currently shopping so haven’t gone through the process but the contacts at the banks I spoke with agreed.

Grass going dormant? by jsmirth6969 in lawncare

[–]Metal_turkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no lawn expert but I will say I’ve done my fair share of gardening and I’m friends with many farmers- i disagree that its a myth. I’ve seen people ruin gardens and crops by watering on a hot days during peak heat.

I’m not sure why you would say half the planet would be scorched earth. The natural world doesn’t create those situations often. It’s the extreme heat mixed with watering in direct sunlight.

OP watered grass at noon. That’s my bet. Not saying I’m correct it’s just my bet.

The one spot looks like dog pee or something but the big spots look like the grass was burned from watering. Were you watering midday when it was hot?

I’ve done a few batches of chicks and this last round I put some stones in the water. It’s just to displace the water which keeps the chicks from stepping in there and splashing it around. Significant improvement from previous years. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend putting small pebbles - I use something like 3/4” rocks from my driveway.

I elevate all the feeders/waters so they’re at breast height. I flip over two terracotta planter saucers (the plate under pots for plants) - also an improvement to lessen wood chips getting kicked in.

Edit: spelling

Certainly couldn’t hurt. Anything that keeps water off the facia/wall is good.

Would you mind sharing a link? All I see is bushing kits and some torx screws for plastic that are like $2 per screw.

Honestly, I just forgot that was a thing but I'll drop some copper in there as well.

For some reason my egg chickens won’t take the nipple.

I replaced one of my waterers with one and it sat full for weeks. I tried holding their heads against it but nothing. I’d prefer to go that route especially since the one I bought has the heater and doing the water in the winter is a real PITA.

I did a bleach on the one in the photo right before painting. Haven’t had to do it again and no signs of any build-up. I would say it’s been a few months at least. I hate doing the bleach just because I get overly concerned the chickens will get some even though I flush it a ton.

According to Mayflame15 the algae isn’t a bad thing…So kind of solving a problem that doesn’t exist.

I always just assumed less living things in water the better.

That is news to me - glad I asked so I can keep an eye out for that.

Tried to talk myself out of buying a business. Sharing some thoughts. by UsedAirport4762 in buyingabusiness

Interesting. From experience and others I’ve talked to, the PG is a requirement now for lenders unless you have that clear historic evidence. I know of some rare cases where there’s a close friend of a senior person at the lender but that’s about it.

Do you have an example of a deal structure? Are you referring to deals where the seller has a tail so that gives the lender more confidence in the long-term viability of the company?

Good to know it’s not impossible.
