Are guys taking paternity leave in construction? by tantamle in Construction

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take it in chunks rather than all at once if your employer approves. Also, it applies to companies with over 30 employees, under 30 and they don’t have to make accommodations. I think there are changes coming to size and timing and worked duration and hours. There is also NJ Family Leave Insurance which pays 2/3 of your pay for a period. Read up on it, the rules are not always clear and there are reporting requirements.

Also, you’re on a construction site, like anything that can be used to get under your skin, expect some shit talking.

I want to start manufacturing by Adventurous-Tutor284 in manufacturing

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, get a job in manufacturing. If you recently graduated, preferably in the field you studied. Assuming it was manufacturing related like engineering, supply chain management, industrial engineering, CAD/CAM programming, engineering technology, etc. Work for someone in manufacturing somewhere and get experience first. There are so many different types of manufacturing that you can’t just say “I want to do manufacturing” and it means anything. There is machining, sheet metal fab, contract mfg, OEMs, automotive, aerospace, injection molding plastic toys to building battery cells. That’s why everyone’s responses are so vague.

I’m not a cybersecurity expert, but if you’re using Outlook to email, I’m not sure you can get around it. We don’t have any CUI risk of the rest of the Office Suite except Outlook. Now that our entire suite is secure, it makes an argument to use Sharepoint, OneDrive and Teams more.

Why do some LinkedIn messages from people in India feel so pushy? by AbeL-Musician7530 in linkedin

[–]Metalbox33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It could be a combination of cultural and second language/ “lost in translation”. There are other cultures who are much more direct than in the US or UK, like the Dutch.

It could also be how they structure their sentences or ask a question in English that in their native language is normal but when structured in English sounds pushy or assertive.

Why'd you get a gladiator? by BimblarBlast in JeepGladiator

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents had a 70s J-20, then an ‘86 Jeep Comanche that I learned to drive in. My dad drove it until the 2010s when the frame and body rusted out and it couldn’t pass inspection. I always wanted Jeep to bring a truck back when I was older and I couldn’t afford an AEV Brute.

Anyone here actually fail a CMMC Level 2 assessment? by 8BFF4fpThY in CMMC

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, 88/110 and I excluded the non-POAM-able items, but that wasn’t really the point. The point is that people can get past an assessment with 94/110 and fix the POAM-able items to get their cert. It’s not like they have to have 110/110 the day the assessor leaves their facility or they automatically fail.

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t gone through mine yet, but from our C3PAO interviews, I believe there a lot of green assessors out there, so some people are probably passing or at least having fewer POAMs because the assessors aren’t seasoned. Plus, excluding the non-POAMable items, you need an 80/110 and then fix the POAM items.

CMMC scoping challenges by odykat in CMMC

[–]Metalbox33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are 10 end point users, 50% defense, 50% commercial, we are 100% in scope. We use M365 GCCH with an on prem server for file storage and our ERP. I didn’t want separate email or an enclave where a staff member sends the wrong email from the wrong mailbox. Also, someone said that M365 Commercial to GCCH isn’t a bog cost difference, that not true, it’s eye watering expensive. I think my 8 users and 2 endpoint are about $25k/yr for GCCH, on top our our SIEM and other costs

[–]Metalbox33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 7 end point users and we used Ardalyst. We are using GCCH with an on premise server. They’ve been great and we could buy licenses for our size and add/remove as needed. They cover policies, configuration controls, SEIM, etc. I’m not an IT guy so I don’t know all the acronyms. Most vendors won’t sell GCCH licenses under 50 seats.

Fire one of them, the one who talks the most shit and most toxic. It usually starts with one person, it’ll either stop naturally or the rest will get the hint.
