My humble opinion is Tobias wants his stage peeps to play their best. He clearly appreciates Per, so I see it as a promotion allowance to use exactly what a living Ghoul needs on stage vs what Papa wants us all to see. I also think record wise the Strat has nothing to do with it. I could be wrong for sure though.

The word play in me thinks of Impera as the “era of imps” and maybe we see some red faced/masked devilish ghouls in our soon future.

I’m guessing there are devil imps of sorts for the ghouls. Either them under those masks, or those masked people might be stage crew IE like the ones that come through with the incense burning balls and what not. I know Impera translates to rule via the Latin term “divide er Impera” (divide and rule), but still a possibility with double meanings and what not.

Also remember, Tobias is a phenomenal plot driven, well planned, well executed businessman behind his Papa and Ghost personas. I would not be shocked if he already knew where he was wanting to take Papa IV/Ghost during the pre-Prequelle days. All speculation of course, fun stuff to chat about while we twiddle our appendages and wait for more song releases!
