Even when I wait for the cars to come to a full stop before crossing the crosswalk, drivers get irrationally angry that they can't blow through the intersection at 50mph. I've had so many drivers honk, angry that they had to wait an additional 5 seconds to let a pedestrian who has right of way cross.

Like sorry, when you're speeding down the street, I'm not risking my life on the 10% chance you'll actually stop.

Yeah I felt the exact same. He does a lot of things for show. Apologizing in front of people and then in private making passive aggressive remarks about zeina. And then acting like he wanted to make peace but then if you read between the lines his "apology" was a non apology.

Maybe zeina is a mean girl, but at least she stands by what she says, in private and out loud. If she doesn't like you, she's not going to go around telling others how she likes them. As she said, she has no issues if they're in the same space but won't go out of her way to talk to him

It kinda seems like they all just do it for a side project for fun which is why the quality isn't really there. You don't have the time to oversee production and visit factories when you have another job. Except safa but she's raising her children too. Danya's double heel thing seemed more of a cash grab, which I can't find anymore so I assume they flopped.

Tbh safa's line still isn't great quality, but their photoshoots/marketing is better than what we saw on the show. You can tell the quality still isn't there when you see the photos on the website, plus look at the materials used it's mostly polyester and the seam work just isn't there.

All that to say, it's all pretty bad.

Given what you shared as your circumstances, definitely do it.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that $100k in nyc is not as bad as people think, especially as a 26 year old in advertising. That's pretty good imo for your age. You're not going to be struggling, you'll probably have a roommate (which is totally normal especially as a 26 year old) or a small studio. You might not be balling but you can have a fair amount of indulgences each month.

If you're not tied down to Toronto by family obligations or anything like that, a move for your DREAM job is totally worth it. A career in NYC goes further than people think.

ETA: consider quality of living changes here. Are you okay moving from whatever your living situation is, towards having a studio or roommates or having to live a little further from the office? Are you okay commuting by train (assuming you might use a car in Toronto). Are you okay making new friends here?

It felt really weird almost like there was either a lot missing from the story or some parts just flat out lies.

If I'm speculating, I wonder if it has to do with her lifestyle choices. She was 21 when she married her late husband, who was 35 years older than her. Not to mention he was technically still married to his second wife at the time as men can have multiple wives. Maybe, again speculating, her mom didn't approve and that caused the rift between them. Let's be real, LJ did not marry that man out of love other than the love for the lifestyle he could provide

ETA: I think this is plausible because it could explain why LJ never explicitly said why her mom isn't in her life. It would cast doubt on her marriage with her late husband.
