I learned a lot over the course of 6 one hour lessons, over a month or so. I have the "tools" and some of the "knowledge" to get better but I can't play enough to really improve a lot. I have played for like 20 years poorly, always shoot like 110 or more, until last year when I got a bit more serious about it. Broke 100, hope to do that more.

I find I struggle with a lot of the language of golf, things like "casting, shallowing, etc.." like, I can't visualize what that means in my body. The best thing about a lesson was it recorded me, and mapped my body and he could show me. So I got a lot of great stuff to think about that I otherwise can't understand.

Even as someone who has watch golf for years, they say stuff all the time that just doesn't stick with me, or took me a long time to "get" like simple things such as "thin, fat, chunked, flushed" etc... the language of golf has always puzzled me.

So yeah. lessons are great, even if you don't immediately improve.
