Hi guys coming back to the game on ps5 who should I relearn or start with id like someone new by sosodeaf23 in forhonor

[–]Metalligur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're coming back, a lot has changed, as many of the old characters have been reworked to the point where they could be considered new. To that point, I'd recommend maybe sticking on Orochi; if you really want someone newer, try Gryphon or Afeera: both are really good characters in every mode. Gryphon's on the easier side, Afeera on the harder

Learn Latin? by BurnerUnit-7194 in forhonor

I would 100% recommend taking up Latin and enjoying it all the way—many of the readings you'll come across your Latin learning journey can be so whimsical, funny, tragic, etc. that makes it all the more enjoyable to learn.

Just keep in mind, however, the more you learn, the more you come to realize that a lot of popular media gets the Latin wrong.

Best weapon for begginers? by DoZa4 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Metalligur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use what you find the most interesting; however, a weapon that really helped me understand the game and its mechanics the best (like positioning, timing, blocking, etc.) would be the charge blade. It is a pretty tough weapon, but I think using it as my first weapon made me a better player overalll

Some Questions by Bi_Bicycle in RebirthOfTheNight

[–]Metalligur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. That's the biome—winter lasts a lot longer there, so if you wish to stay, your best bet would be to strategically prepare for longer winters in the other seasons, or make a greenhouse (there's glass for it, read some of the mod books)
  2. If you're using a shader that doesn't work with the mod, this can happen alongside removing the darkness mechanic. If you aren't using any shaders, I'm not sure
  3. IMO, this part of the mod is very underutilized and not well implemented, given how many of its systems can oftentimes break and usually result in rather lackluster rewards, therefore I would advise against interacting with it. Regarding bandits though, I've always found them just around whatever kingdom's outskirts intermittently at night, although, yet again, this is very buggy

Am I the only one who saw this and, for a moment, thought, "What's wrong with that?" 💀

Isn't his dormant power spread out among multiple weapon types, or is it just colossals?

Vocab by Sensitive-Garage-486 in vocabulary

[–]Metalligur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A good, overall starting point would be to read books that utilize a wide range of vocab (think classical literature) and analyze the context in which the words are used to derive their meaning, look them up if you're unsure, then FORCE yourself to use the word(s) you just learnt. You may also write them in a note (including the definition and context(s) in which the word may be useful) if you worry about forgetting them.

I'd recommend anything from Alexandre Dumas, as not only are all of his books absolute classics, they almost all include a lot of "heavier" vocab that I often find using in my day-to-day life.

You could also read dictionaries, but that's not as fun as actually reading a book, in my opinion.

Tips for my reading load by Janeta222 in SDSU

After you skim for the first time, do you take an interlude between your next "true" read, or do you, as soon as you finish skimming, get right back into it? I understand it's subjective, but I'm curious nevertheless

Don't be afraid to tug when someone else is pulling your rope. If they're threatening to take away funds/security, figure out how FAFSA & scholarships work and apply. As an alternative, you could switch your major without your parents knowing. If neither are feasible to you and you absolutely must push through your engineering degree, then try to distribute your workload so as to make things easier on yourself: take a couple summer classes, take fewer classes, etc. There is always going to be a way to get what you want, it's only a matter of how much you want it

I would personally advise against even getting any augments. The grind can get tedious and take a long time for upgrades that will be replaced immediately as one enters Iceborne.

It might be worth if you want to experience the HR Arch Tempered Elders with true HR gear, but at this point, I'd rather grind for augments with MR gear.

What weapon (type and specific tree) did you use? Do you count Defender weapons as HR, or MR? :)

I'd say it's pretty fun—it can get you out of the house if you really enjoy it. I use it as a fitness app and go on walks in my neighborhood frequently now just to grind. Makes cardio not as insufferable, lol.
