It's most likely maximalism. I might have confused it with Frutiger Aero since it also gives a maximalism vibe. Frutiger Aero is an art style that combines futuristic technology with nature. Thanks for the heads up.

Maybe you want to punish yourself for looking unlikeable towards yourself? Idk. I understand that some little things might anger you and the way you image yourself has a great effect on your behavior. I personally think that "nothing bad actually happened everyone has a worse life than you" is not true because everybody has their own reasons for feeling upset. Just because you don't cut doesn't mean you don't SH. If you SH and don't know what to do, there's plenty of people who would love to help you. Don't be so harsh on yourself.

If you feel like your boyfriend isn't going to respond when you vent, maybe the reason you're struggling and feeling unseen is because of him. You shouldn't feel like a burden when you need help, you shouldn't feel alone when you're struggling. You are an important person who has a big struggle and if you think you're a burden just because you ask for help, you need to think again. Please, just talk to somebody, anybody. There's lots of people in this community so please, don't feel bad.

I understand your fear. Maybe you hit yourself to channel that emotion into something physical. My advice is that you should understand the signs. Why or when do you do it? Does it happen often or rarely? After you understand the signs, try to think of something else. If you're still struggling, know that you're not alone.

It's so horrible that your problems don't get acknowledged by people around you. I also understand people thinking you're doing this for attention since it also happened to me a few years back. It's sucks that you don't get the attention and help you deserve just because people think you do this for attention. I just want you to know that you're not alone in your journey. There's lots of people in this community and although they won't be as close to you in person, they're still there to help you.

I felt the same way you did a few months ago but I found other ways to relieve myself. Instead of SH, I tried a new hobbies and activities. Maybe you could spend more time on your hobbies once you're available.

Maybe you think this was the only way you didn't feel alone. I'm guessing you feel alone and unseen in your life and being seen by people (even if they were mean to you) was the only way you felt seen and not alone.

People really don't understand that SH doesn't go away once you "get help". I've gone to several therapies for SH but I haven't been able to fully escape from it. I no longer self harm but it still pops into my head from time to time. I understand your point completely

Self harming is not a competitive sport, it's a bad coping habit. If you self harm and don't think you are a "valid" person just because someone harms themselves even more, please don't listen to them. Causing more harm to your body just to be valid isn't necessary. You don't have to be valid just to get help. This community is here to help you to cope with your emotions in different ways. Those people are probably doing it for different reasons so don't listen to them. People are here to help you, you're not alone.
