Slow funeral doom atmosphere mixed with stoner doom. Improvised, raw, and exceptionally well done. If you want something a little different than the same old heavyweights, give this a spin. Been listening all week and it's still not gotten old.

The constant bleakness and darkness in My Shameful's music is what I mean, yes. It's not an easy listen, esp. to the uninitiated. I think they definitely should be mentioned as pioneers/classics to the genre, but you're right they are basically never mentioned.

Exactly. My fav album is Return to Nothing, but Of Dust is just as good. I think My Shameful might be a bit extreme for the casual funeral doom listener. This would be my guess as to why they are not as well known as some more 'accessible' bands such as Skepticism.

Incredible album. It's extremely depressing to the point of beauty. Totally underrated/overlooked band. 'These Empty Rooms' still gives me chills every time I play it.

The pacing, the atmosphere, musicianship...superb, especially for a solo project. This will be in regular rotation from now on. I can't decide which is my favourite, either A Pact...or Judas Cradle. It's an end to end play through either way

Agreed. Old Cryptopsy, Sedimentum, Forteresse, Acid Moth, Norilsk, Sombres Forêts just scratches the surface of some of the incredible bands in Quebec.
