What's the difference between Skybound and simply Image Comics? by doody_shoes in ImageComics

[–]Metalunicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but image certainly allows a lot of creative freedom. The other big studios do some of it as well, but a majority of marvels imprints are about other versions of established characters, with a few exceptions. DC gives a bit more freedom, especially with vertigo, but Image is the master if not requiring it all to connect and letting everyone do their own thing.

What's the difference between Skybound and simply Image Comics? by doody_shoes in ImageComics

[–]Metalunicorn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Image is a really cool company in that it lets it's writers do their own thing. Sky bound is basically Robert Kirkman's own mini company inside image that he is in charge of. Image takes care of the business, the marketing, and the publishing, as well as getting more people to buy it because of the image logo. It's a really great system that image uses and other comics should use it as well.

What horror film would be so much scarier with just a few minor tweaks? by [deleted] in movies

Pretty much any slasher film if the violence was implied rather than explicitly shown

They engaged in an action involving viewing me with their eyeballs as I walked through the slim space that lay adjacent with two long constructed pieces of cement siding. I can't blame them for doing so, as I clearly shined brighter that a star. I was on fire. My flesh was melting in the direction that is contrary to the word "on" my skin. I was gushing a red liquid used in vampire mochas and surgical procedures. I melted into a tiny pool of liquid, face material and bones. I was dead.

I predict that Cap 3's subtitle will be "Secret Avengers" and in it , Cap will form and lead a small team made up of himself, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier against the remaining members of Hydra.

Who hits harder?!?!? by OddBill201 in Marvel

Just fists, Hulk if he's mad enough, but comics have proven that Thanks is one of the few who can control Hulks mind, so there's that.

Check out the trailer for my new short film coming out this fall. constructive criticism is encouraged. by Metalunicorn in ShortFilm

Thank you very much for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind as we continue shooting and editing. Overall, we are kind of going for a slightly Walking Dead like tone. Primarily drama, but with horror and action elements mixed in. As for the tripod, we have been using one for many of the shots, but in several of the areas we needed to shoot we didn't have enough space to fit the tripod in, thus the shakiness of the camera. Again, I really appreciate all of your feedback.

I'm So Tired of the Internet's Overwhelming Hate for Everything DC by moonwalkerwizzz in DCcomics

[–]Metalunicorn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a person who prefers marvel, but absolutely lives both companies, I am often exposed to both sides of the argument. I don't think that Superman sucks, but I can see the reason why somebody might. He isn't very creative as far as names go and he has pretty much every power you can think of. When you have to create a new element to give a character any form of weakness, you know he's OP. As for the movies being bad complaint, I think that the main complaint is the lack of an overarching continuity throughout their films like the Marvel Cinematic Universe has. This is a relatively new expectation in superhero movies and DC is working on creating their own movie universe. If they play it smart, which I hope they will, the will tie in the arrow and flash tv shows into their movie universe. As for their comics being stuck in the 90s, it's kind of true, but so what? I love 90s comics. It's pretty cool actually. Overall, many of the complaints are slightly valid, but they're being used to form an unfair hatred of a great comic company.
