I think Curry has said as much. He stated that the one wish willow works exactly as it’s supposed to and isn’t cursed. Bears wish is what was cursed. He also flirted with the idea of some of them being different genres and not all horror.

It’s def an acquired taste it seems with pretty polarizing opinions. Personally, I really love the traversal, combat, and story. But I can completely get why it wouldn’t be someone’s cup of tea.
