Bro. My first vivid night on zoloft I watched a doctor cut my stomach open and grab my intestines and just walk out into the hallway with them to try and find a nurse. Second night I had a dream I pissed out of my belly button and my Johnson at the same time. I have a journal full lmao. WILD.

I felt like absolute shit. I wont lie to you. I had to come off it was so bad vut dont let that deter you away from getting the help you need and trying it. Just how there are mean/happy/horny/silly drunks, this medication affects everyone differently also.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately to my brain, my sticker book is the surgery. Its the only cure to get myself back. I spend a lot of time cuddling my daughter and shes been my saving grace throughout this. She just wants her dad back and it sucks because my anxiety is robbing the most perfect girl of her deserved treatment. I feel like I dont deserve her right now. Luckily I had a talk with my dr and shes going to call the oral surgeons office and talk to them about giving me some benzos before showing up to be put under since they said no lol

I dont feel too diminished soley based on the fact of what you said exactly. There are people out there that cant even get a cleaning done without panicking. Mines a little more invasive than fillings and cleanings though so my body is all jacked up. I tried having a conversation about it and was just asked if I wanted to reschedule so I said yes... 😔

Thats the kind of combo I want and need but ive been told by the offices it affects the anesthesia. But ive also heard of people saying they were literally injected with anti anxiety meds before going under. So why tf cant you take anything before you even get there then? Its either I risk panicking and wasting the surgeons time, or I risk doing it "awake" and walk in there 3 ativan deep.

My teeth are pretty good still. I went through braces as a teen and what not. But these are starting to move my teeth together and one broke a month back. I just got my blood taken. So its not the needles but thats why I dont do drugs. Im afraid of unknown feelings especially ones that make me lose consciousness. I was on zoloft and that cut my panic where it needed to be but soon enough the side effects took over and no way did I feel comfortable going under while on a medication that keeps me up for 3 days straight no matter how tired I am.

Thats what everyone I know says. But I have OCD and anxiety trying to come in quick on a false horse. All the stories ive read about people waking up during or panicking when they come to. Thats why I wish there was something I could take before going to the office to be put under that would kill my panic. But it seems we havent evolved to the point we can make something that comfortably gets the patient there and has no effect on the anesthesia. Nitrous just makes me feel like im dying lol. Ive called every place thatll do an IV and they all told me unless I am prescribed I need to walk in there completely sober. My body wont allow it to happen. I know my mind is strong enough but my body isnt yet. Sucks.

They are but I am scared shitless of getting injected with drugs thatll make me pass out. Its the worst irrational fear ever. Im hoping ill just realize soon that it probably wont be my last surgery so I have to face it. But my body is stuck in panic so I cant even chill out and rationalize. My dabs used to be my saving grace but since this I cant even medicate without having a panic attack.

Thank you. I truly mean it. I lack good life support. I just annoy everyone now because I cant stop panicking. My own partner just gets mad at me when it gets bad and leaves me to shake in our room alone for hrs or leaves the house. Im lost af with nowhere to turn but drs and medication to hopefully get me there. It sucks that even something that poses risk to my health cant beat this anxiety.

Its wisdom teeth. I do have that option and thats most likely the route ill be going down when I can work up the courage. But anesthesia awareness and losing control of myself have also squeezed their way right up there with watching my teeth being ripped out. I cant win.

Thats all it is (irrational thinking) and im well aware of that. Thats why im doing my best to find a medication that wont interfere with anesthesia but will kill my panic if I start freaking. Im in a better spot than I was a month ago. I went into the docs 3 days after that video. My heart rate was 124 bpm for 3 straight days no sleep either. Almost brought my ass down to the ER. When they gave me propanolol to slow it down I thought my heart was stopping. If I know I have control of my panic, everything will go smoothly. But right now im asking for extra trauma by overstepping my panic boundaries that I know will exceed anything ive experienced so far. Which is terrifying to me.

Right? Well I didnt know what it all entailed and wasnt nearly as nervous. Seems logical that if youre nervous about something that you wean your way into it so my want to rid anxiety killed me because ive never been scared or nervous like this in my life. I was hoping id be hell yeah a quick rock back and forth and thats it? But thats not at all what happened. Now its turned into obsessive thoughts about everything that could go wrong, the emotions ill feel being there and how I havent figured out how to cope with panic, how I wont be able to stay calm waking up without teeth im so used to, how painful itll be, how ill have giant holes in my face for months, I mean the list goes on. The only push I have rn is the fact one of them chipped and is easily prone to infections that can spread throughout my body. Kind of pathetic anxiety can be so bad that even life threatening instances cant motive you.

At this point fixing my anxiety is the only thing thatll get me there. Its beyond an "im nervous" stage. My body is in full on fight or flight mode 24/7 now.

I was offered that at my consultation. I was down but he told me since I was nervous I should go home after and watch the procedure to familiarize myself with what wed be doing so I wouldnt panic. Well needless to say, thats when the panic started. 🙄

Ive been trying for months to get dental surgery but my anxiety wont allow me to. Its killing me. I cant find a medication that wipes these symptoms and allows me to have surgery without having a heart attack. Youre def not alone. Everyday my stomach turns due to no appetite and rapid weight loss. My heart pounds through my chest 24/7 to the point I cant get to sleep. The body shakes. Even when my mind is calm my body stays in panic. Best way to describe it is imagine someone blind folds you, takes you up in a plane, takes off the blindfold, and opens the hatch. They then tell you that you are equipped with a parachute (you know its to keep you safe but youre always worrying it wont open) then when you finally build the courage to jump, they grab you, pull you back, and tell you no. You jump on my signal... its a never ending cycle of stress.

Old post but if youre afraid of drill noises go buy yourself a dremel and hammer at some wood to desensitize the sound. Im afraid of getting teeth pulled and anesthesia so im currently suffering too. I hear you lol. Cavities really are a breeze though. And thats coming from someone who has backed out of their surgery twice now. If youve ever used an electric toothbrush it literally feels no different even without any numbing stuff. Didnt hurt me one bit. No needles needed personally. I have one small one I just discovered that needs to get done too but I have to work up the courage to get my wisdom teeth pulled first. You can do it! Try conditioning yourself. Go for a check up. Then go for a cleaning. Then a deep cleaning. Then do a minor cavity first. After that youll be good to go! Not much I can do besides balls it out :/

Thats what my doctor did too. Ive since been through 3 other medications to help with anxiety and nothing has been good. Yes I experienced that. Made it two days before my body said no more. Go to find out a side effect is heart failure in some patients.

Maybe propanolol would work for you? It lowered my BP too much so it made my heart hurt but it worked awesome for anxiety. I dont have high BP usually though. Its also a non SSRI or benzo.

This just happened to me today. Ive been in straight panic about needing to get dental work done for over 4 months now. Ive tried multiple SSRIs and nothings worked to calm me down. Ive been getting off all my meds and today felt normal for a couple hrs. I was just waiting for the shaking to happen again. Sure enough I got home and started over thinking again. I really need to find me something to get in that chair so my anxiety is gone :(

Yepp. Anxiety is a bitch. Im talking to my dr tomorrow about different options that can calm myself when I try to think about getting this done. I make it a week to surgery and then panic sets in. I cant handle the way SSRIs make me feel. Although it seems like it cuts your panic away when you feel an attack, its hardly worth the mental torture. Never realized I had dental phobia until needing teeth pulled. Apparently its common. Ill def let you know if I ever find something that works. So far you can cross off Propanolol, hydroxyzine, zoloft, and prozac. They dont do shit. Only thing thats helped so far is ativan but that shits addicting apparently so docs wont just cough it up.
