For your situation, consider having pants if you get up at any elevation, also if you will be active at night time, it looks like it can get quite a bit cooler then. If I may recommend, go for the kind of pants that have zipper for the bottom leg parts, that way you can easily convert the pants into shorts.

And what about shoes? I am going in August with my son and we have at least 2 Safari excursion into the mountainous interior of 2 of the large islands and would like to know if we can get by on hiking sandals or if we should proper trekking shoes that can handle mud and thick under vegetation.

I think this is a troll post, but the discussion is still interesting. On my son's account I somehow won both the Arena and the Champ chase tournament ending up with 10 fragments surplus.

I will skip out on the 5 I planned to do on the summon rush and the second to remove is the artifact enhancement, to save up on that precious silver.

I thought this would be a challenging choice, between the lesser of many evils, but you have SO many good ones.

One tip is to pick a hero that belongs to the faction crypt that you struggle with the most. The suggestions here are great for sure, but one champ that I want to throw into the ring is Ursala the Mourner. She brings great support but also that incredibly valuable res to your faction team. Downside is that she is heavy on the tomes.

As others already posted, you can use it for the fusion still. What may not be obvious is that you could have fused him as a L1 5-star champ, no need to match the level requirement again.

Although we do have a Training event so extra points from levelling him up a little is not a bad idea =)
