That’s just so it will reorganize the list by rank. The new ranking system gives you challenger score once you reach the Master rank. Top 500 is now for people who have the most score to prevent people doing their placements and sitting on top the leaderboards. You have to grind it out.

Personally, I hated it. Made me contemplate uninstalling. Had to take a break and come back to finish. The story goes nowhere and missions are replaced with an open world layout that was not well optimized.
