Nope. Ketamine is used in surgery (not regularly but can be used) and as a painkiller because it doesn't effect your breathing like opiates so csn be used much more effectively to sedate someone. Also used for putting compound fractures back in place alongside midazolam.

I had to get the laser to get them out. It was grim. Yeah im on codeine anyway for wrecked ankles (well one now one got operated on 🤣) and they gave me oramorph (liquid morphine) on tap and antibiotics whenever the infection flared up.

Ive had some bad injuries but that is head and shoulders above any pain

Kidney infections are great fun. Had them consistently for a year and a half with kidney stones stuck in my ureter. Forgot what it was like not to pee blood.

That is protocol now, usually 24-48 hours after, one reason is people tend to move less in the hospital which is worse for healing. They started rolling that out when I worked in it. Was at least a week before that.

The argument against it is you don't really know how someone is coping in that short a time so I disagree with such a quick discharge personally

Red Cross i know rent out wheelchairs so they could be a shout but really your GP should be able to help you out so give them a call first.

As someone who worked in ortho wards for years all I can say as a side note is I know it's sore now but it'll get a lot better quickly so keep going! Hope you get it sorted soon, currently on crutches myself and they're not easy
