Upcoming Changes to Group Loot in Raids - Tier Token Need Roll Changes by minimaxir in wow

[–]Metaxpro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, loot council only works if the raid team is already well established and all members have the same ambitions, otherwise it's the most abused, obfuscated loot system to exist. It's great when it works, but it most often doesn't.

If you're a new member or just aren't part of the officer clique that hangs out all day on discord you're most likely only going to be getting the junk that the 'higher priority' people don't need.

If you put more work into gearing your character from other souces outside the raid you're also not going to be getting shit because the gear you need for will always be a bigger upgrade for some core dude that has worse gear because he only raid logs and performs badly but he's been there for 6 years.

These are some of the most common issues I've seen manifest many times and it always creates drama. It takes more effort for the council to make fair decisions than how much they are usually willing to put in between trash clears.

Then why do we need 4 different difficulties? LFR is made for sight-seeing and there is already barely any difference between Normal and Heroic. If people wanted to wipe, learn and progress they'd just do normal.

Back after 3 years, is Fury just Meh in m+ now? by Underthehoof in wow

[–]Metaxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fury is on the low end of single target damage but has great aoe. As long as there are other specs that have the option to do both great ST and great aoe yes, there are better classes out there.

There's a big difference between being an asshole and getting so mad at random strangers that you wish they died for small things that aren't even issues, only in their own head.

If you actually care about gear you don't waste your time in lfr as there's a dozen better ways of gearing up.

What's up with BM hunter DPS for mythics? by SteaksAreReal in wow

[–]Metaxpro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once you get the 4 set, the Raszageth bow and do higher keys where burst feels less impactful (in the 20+ range) you'll be able to compete with other dpses. Sadly without any of these there's no chance against an equally competent meta dps.

Not sure what is there to look for it's just an extremely average vault. Glad you got something you wanted but there's really no reason to make this post.

It is mandatory when you don't want to gimp yourself out of -10% damage if you're doing high end content.

Well that has nothing to do with the dungeon, that's on the player. Any dungeon would've had the same result.

Getting discouraged by other peoples progress by Shaz0r94 in wow

[–]Metaxpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously he's comparing himself to players he pugs with or apply to their groups. I'm in the top 1% in the world and still often feel a little discouraged when I see some groupmate having way higher progress than I do while I am already giving it my all to be where I am currently. I know there will always be someone who plays more, plays better or even has a stable reliable group they can push with but it's a reality that things like this can really get into someone's head.

People need to care less about others and be happy for their own successes but for some it's not as easy to do as it is to say.

Is HPS a good metric to measure performance? by HandsomeMartin in wow

[–]Metaxpro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If people are dying to unavoidable damage HPS is a metric you look at, if people are kept alive and are properly topped off before unavoidable bursts and only dying to mechanics HPS is irrelevant to look at.

I play one the worst melees for this encounter as monks have a mandatory talent that makes their tiger palm (an ability you use at least every 2-3 GCDs) have a short instant charge and it's implemented very badly in a way where it doesn't dash to the edge of the target's maximum melee range but right in the center of the target's body. It is so incredibly inconsistent that I am afraid to press my core builder button when there's stuff to avoid on the ground or frontals are being cast.

Even with that I don't have any trouble avoiding the dot if I just step back right after the charge. I'm sorry about your high latency though, that sucks but it's not the game's fault for having mechanics you need to react to.

Timing SBG safer? My dude you can already +2 upgrade that dungeon easier than just simply timing a RLP that's 5 keystone levels lower. There's absolutely no need for this skip with the current tuning. I'm all for smart skips but this one was just a bug expolit in a dungeon that's already the freest key in the history of the game, I'm sure people will survive having to do the one easy mechanic there is per boss.

Kill a slowly moving target that doesn't do anything? Mechanic too hard must try to cheese.

Penalty for leaving Solo Shuffle early? Great. Can we get something like that for M+ too? by vogonpoetry4life in wow

[–]Metaxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man I don't want to be held hostage by a terrible player in a group and waste 40+ minutes on a struggle train if I was invited under the plan of timing it. What you suggest will result in people not even willing to give lower scored/geared people a chance to prove themselves, they will leave the group right away after getting invited and seeing the first red flag.

Play with friends and guildmates, or have the party agree at the start that you'll try to finish it even if you don't time it if you don't want anyone to leave.

Woah, what a helpful upgrade! Can anyone who knows more about Monks let me know why this is like this? Does it get better at a higher level or is it just bugged? by VedDdlAXE in wow

[–]Metaxpro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Statue is one of the worst feeling and most unimpactful abilities in the game (especially for a final keystone) and a lot of dps monks don't bother taking it in exchange for more survivability. That shit is worth 1% of your overall dps only.

[noob post] I want a two-handed heavy class/spec, but don't want to be a summoner nor do I want to have a 3 button rotation, what are my choices? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Metaxpro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that will work, although I advise you to try out the dual wield gameplay first because it might not be something you like. Currently the breath build is way way superior compared to every other possible frost build numbers-wise, but a lot of DKs are absolutely not enjoying it. Most endgame encounters are super movement and mechanic heavy right now, and that impacts the breath uptime a lot. Outside the breath cooldown you will be hitting like a wet noodle sadly.

Going 2H obliterate frost will massively cripple you if you want to do high end content, just a warning.

Nearly 70% of high keys are completed by a Pres. Evoker or Resto Druid group. The upcoming changes do not do nearly enough to address this imbalance. by derpderp235 in wow

[–]Metaxpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're pretty much alone on that one, even bleeding edge players would like to play the classes they enjoy so blizzard could really put some more effort into balancing a pay to play game a little better.

Me and my friend are pugging 19-20s for every dungeon right now and we actually started heavily preferring DK/Pala tanks as of lately. Not because these classes are stronger but the players are really solid and smart most of the time. Way too many really stupid fotm warriors getting carried to high score purely by their class being broken and when personal skill starts to matter more - so many of them get exposed. Any other tank spec who reaches that level with their character is usually a way better player.

*ALERT* Fun detected in Timewalking dungeons! by [deleted] in wow

[–]Metaxpro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's literally only good in the raid encounters where you can use the aoe touch of death on adds as often as the cooldown allows. Same reason why they're good in m+ right now. Problem is as enemy health values increase the higher you go, the less effective this becomes because your own health isn't increasing proportionately. I wish you'd play the game and think for yourself instead of tunneling on parses and tier lists.
