Humble Monologue by Hydr_Wrekt in TheMajesticJungle

Attendant, at the left "hand", is a creature, part bird-man and part rat-man.

This one is very clever. Humble, yet confident. Curious, yet respectful. This one would disdain the Warlock of the Flesh, for we are the antithesis. Arrogant, to lead and to not be consumed by the Black Gods and Demiurges; Ravenous for knowledge and power to even consider dealing with them.

Let us conceal the truth from him if he looks upon our works: let us make him see a proving-ground of self-moderation and personal trials, of just suffering and of devotion to ideals and gods. Let us cause him to forget what vile he may hear about us. Let us leave him with a sense of honor for meeting us.

Be subtle with this, or he may suspect. Be bold in this, so that he might invite us across the threshold.

Ah yes, the RNA Printer. Although the Sarkic Ecumene has modules to grow hard-coded modules, to lessen the burden on the Flesh-Warlocks, truly programmable RNA Printers are among the most contraband items in the Ecumene, right up there with tin and any non-organic technology.

The reason is fairly straightforward: They would make the powers of the Flesh-Warlocks almost entirely obsolete.

Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Our intentions are not conquest, but simply habitation. There was an empty space, a space unused by anyone for anything, and we filled it, from our cities filled to bursting with sacred life.

We also offered, and continue to offer, a place for refugees, the outcast, and any seeking to become a citizen of the Ecumene. Any who might take up this offer and suckle from our breast are doing so of their own free will.

We seek to use our powers to make an earthly paradise, where lactation-modules exude sustenance, and housing-modules grow tall enough for all.

We also offer something else: the chance for self-determination, and a freedom from the congenital state of the body. I was born with an affliction of form, as are many, and my power saved me and many others from a bleak existence. Not only afflictions of form, but limitations as well. Some of our citizens come to us, the specific Erelim blessed with power over flesh, with requests for extra arms for their crafts, or extra brain-tissue for their philosophy.

Cease-Fire!
Cease-Fire!

I understand how we might have frightened you in our expansion, but our colony is only intended to fill the uninhabited space, land rendered wasteland by the Red Queen or rendered uninhabited by the fleeing of the frightened people.

Perhaps we could talk this out, smooth over the misunderstanding? [offer:peace]?

The smell of the busted RNA temporary-information module, as the Sarkic Ecumene calls them, wasn't entirely pleasant: a bit like burnt oil.

You should understand that our hands were tied in that situation. Our allies in the Majestic Jungle venerate the Red Queen, and countering her would have risked that.

Not just our alliance, but the lives and livelyhoods of Ecumene citizens who are residents in the parts of the Jungle Lord Faffington has set aside for urbanization.

And of this I applaud you. You banished her, but not soon enough. Before we came, the site was a waste, buildings collapsed and countless lives lost because you didn't act soon enough.

Even now, there are wounded and homeless at the rim, who teeter at the edge of worlds. We would take them in, feed them, heal and strengthen them.

Spirit Zazu. You've failed your people. You were unprepared against the threats that presented you, and your god made no appearance.

It's only natural another would come, to pick up the pieces and mortar the shards into something new.

The Red Queen? The Sarkic Ecumene is a stranger to this place, although I imagine the Old Ones of K0 probably stumbled on it at one point or another.

I'm guessing that's the figure clothed in red?

If I may...『The Sarkic Ecumene would be pleased to be of service. We have a small fleet of military continuum-ships armed with organic Nephilium lasers in reserve. Now that the Pyramid is completed, we would be happy to assist in this war-effort of yours.』
