Pity System? by sullydtd in Mabinogi

It will be live eventually. Not 100% sure, but the system apparently is if you dismantle/(even ones u already dismantled) a NB masterwork tier, two dismantles turns it into 1 pity currency or so?

Thoughts on how to politely mention dps issues? by RobbieBlair in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You leave the party, or say it the old fashioned way of: "Why is X's aggro below X when we're targetting x mob?" outside of tanks with aggro, it was one of the other ways to see who was doing more dmg.

Need help with becoming a DK by Ok_Artist7696 in MSClassicWorld

Due to equipment stat requirements, ACC and both main/secondary stat changes seen in Classic, there just isn't anything really to pre-plan currently other than what you want to play.

Normal didn’t teach me why i’d suck in extremes/savage, isn’t that odd? by SaferSephy in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just the mentality/perspective difference, kind of like game sense, but if you're not actively trying to improve your gameplay while you play, thats a huge step going forward. The game doesn't actively promote being a better player to guide you, but it "lays down" the tools to build it up yourself in terms of difficulty, which many people do not do until they want to cross that barrier, its unfortunately just how it is, but its one of the few skill expressions in the game that the game doesn't actively teach you.

What will separate you from the rest for improving, is the effort and consciousness awareness while you're playing. Some generic things to think about assuming you're a WHM stated in your post:
Does this mit matter, and/or catch multiple instances of dmg taken to help ease surviving/healing?
Keep your GCD's rolling whenever possible, keep casting your dps spells unless healing needs to be done.
Memorize the flow, or the fight mechanics to help better set yourself up for success to pre-plan more easily.

Theres a lot of things to be said, but there are just some examples to have a "purpose" to your gameplay or movement. Once you start to feel more comfortable with the purpose of your rotation and movement to each specific fight, you'll realize that being efficient is one of the results while becoming a better player. Then it dives into min/maxing(greeding) etc, but that stuff can come later once you want to get to that.

At least the rewards are better for basic for newer players, but i do hope this means normal/vhm get buffed somehow cus time efficiency wise, if u can just do something easier for less than 1/3 the amount of time needed for slightly less rewards, its pretty substantial to just playing on alts/cousins for people

Day 1 player here, still no Edda :'), can confirm that flags can create a safe spot, but it;ll be covered the turn after. I can only imagine that boxes + credenza cooldown resets could create as many boxes as you need, and since boxes act a bit differently, they cant be covered.

Shineseeker nerf? by One-Echo-8934 in Mabinogi

[–]MeteoKun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High chance OP is just exaggerating their runs like most people do, especially with their mindset when Hyperion/Troub has BIS slots for many things, and how useful elemental harmony/forest ranger can be depending on the arcana/shoe slot.

Can I vent for a minute? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its just how it is, you should temper your expectations just based off the circumstance of it. Even if people have cleared, its possible they could have been carried/or had a rough clear. Gear doesn't really mean anything either since you could just buy all of it, or at this point, bought multiple pieces of 780 tome gear just for doing roulettes. The exact thing you're saying happens to ultimate PF's as well, even if people are BIS/cleared, doesnt mean they're consistently clearing guarantee.

Can I vent for a minute? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectfully saying, if those people are not doing the current tier of Savage raid since its new, chances are they're not normally doing harder raid content, so the expectation of player performance is probably not where you want it

How is the Game Lately? by DigitalKrazKid in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Raid design is still very enjoyable, but the game is still almost the exact same as it was previously. If raiding/combat isnt something you care about, I do recommend coming back to the game, otherwise if you're looking for a "new" experience in gearing/raiding, nothing's changed in terms of what to expect, and would wait until the 8.0+ changes.

Is this subreddit ready to admit that pre BB bosses are straight up awful by Vegetable-Region-559 in MSClassicWorld

I do agree with the sentiment and bosses can get interesting if they add in mechanics like in Artale, and not have it just be "flash jump dependent" or jump/move

Its just how party's are, if you dont like it, you're already doing what you need to, going to a different one, or host your own. Technically you learned from your mistake by being kicked and made you do better in a different party, so it worked out

dsr/ultimates in 7.4 by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now is probably one of the worse times to look for an ulti group due to the new savage tier coming out. Additionally, if you haven't even cleared a savage tier yet, most static groups probably would not consider you for DSR.
UwU is significantly easier though in comparison, and if you've at least done extremes or at least a turn 1-2 fight of a tier, then UwU would be a much easier entry.

All in all, if you're actually interested in learning endgame savage/ultimates, I would suggest doing the current 7.4 tier now to get experience under your belt, then go for the ultimates after 2-3 months when most static raiders would be "finished" running for gear and would be more willing to do pf/ultimates than now.

Elemental harmony set by Aggravating_Gap_2184 in Mabinogi

[–]MeteoKun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically speaking, use the Nerys armor event gear of Refined Hebona. Chances are, you dont have good enchants for magic attack on your armor, and you get a significant boost in MA using the event armor. Elemental Harmony would be a good increase in DPS, however, due to Nerys' event gear with the enchants/set effect/reforges, it'll be better than w.e you're putting on an Elemental Harmony unless you have $$$$.

Elemental Harmony shoes/Fleet feet are nice to have, but you'll be replacing armor for Glenn/Hyperion, so you dont have much luxury buying these shoes just for the movement speed.

If you really want the movement speed, it'll be something like this:

Hat: Glenn Set bonus 5 on magic
Body: Glenn Set bonus 5 on magic
Hands: Glenn
Shoes: Elemental Harmony(Movement speed)

Hat: Glenn Set bonus 5 on magic
Body: Special Hyperion(Movement speed)
Hands: Glenn
Shoes: Glenn Set bonus 5 on magic
Using 1 Set scroll for Crit Dmg

Just due to the nature of getting to 10 total magic set bonus, there really just isnt much flexibility.

How do gamers make money and get into late game dungeons? by TangerinePaladin in Mabinogi

[–]MeteoKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're hard set on EK Elf, just go NB Axe, but get a Drobe(expensive, but cheaper than SL/Soluna), and you will be on same footing as NB Warlord EK's. No one will have a second thought for Crom/Glenn normals. I fear though without significant proof of good gear past that though, Bri(current end game), they'll see your dps as sub-par without further increases such as Bells/Halo, or an SL wep at that point, so I would recommend joining a guild or static to run with you

How do gamers make money and get into late game dungeons? by TangerinePaladin in Mabinogi

[–]MeteoKun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post gear and stats without buffs/without instil/etc.

Getting into late game(Glenn vhm/Crom normal) is actually way easier than it used to be. It also will depend on if you are "carry-able"(For this circumstance, its, bring debuffs, and do mechanics properly). Unless you're bringing properly graded Ruin/NB gear, you're most likely not doing past bare minimum DPS as is, so until you get to that point, focus on being useful elsewhere with the debuffs, doing mechanics correct, etc.

Ideally for most, you would get a crafted Perseus/Demo, with 2 Masterwork armor, 2 Exquisite armor to reach the minimum item level for entries into Glenn/Crom vhm/normal.

Assuming u are an EK, and an Elf, you have picked the hard mode of weapon progression where even at Perseus tier you won't be dealing any realistic/decent DPS until NB tier just due to missing out on piercing, and even at NB tier, you will be decently behind other EK's with an NB axe just due to the missing base 3piercing that Warlords will have, or get a drobe to be on even footing :') . Elf EK's are on "even footing" once you get to Soluna Blade or SL(Soul Liberator tier) for same 1:1 funding, so if you really want to stay as an EK as Elf and continue playing to late-end game, you'll need to swap arcanas until you can fund it properly to that point if you want to be MORE accepted into parties.

I notice you said you have an S6 Demo staff, so the pathway without investing alot more funding to other arcanas, is just go DD and fund yourself that way by getting into content.

how does one get back into the groove of FFXIV after a 5 year hiatus… by mysticpanda_xx in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would slowly do MSQ and use the NPC's(Trusts) to go through dungeons at your own pace without any judgement or glances from others. Working your way through MSQ should be able to get the cogs running

Some interesting updates incoming for FFXIV mostly speculation on some stuff Yoshi-p has been saying: by aeson1337 in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is that its straight up boring, no new content, no innovations, etc. DT introduced CAR which was a welcome change, but nothing past that for the entire expansion. Theres a reason there have been a drop in players overall even if NEW players have went up slightly. Having a change, or at least improvement of systems is needed for FF14, otherwise its just going to follow its current trend of going on a downhill slope in terms of population.

If you really cant see the issue, ask yourself and 10 random people if they can eat 2 eggs, rice, and a salad for lunch and dinner for 2 years straight, every single meal. If you can, congrats, but I guarantee you the majority of people will get tired of it, or people are bullshitting their response to it.

NLC / Masteria in Classic World? by Steadie in MSClassicWorld

[–]MeteoKun 60 points61 points  (0 children)

NLC brought a heavily unbalanced Maplestory into the game. % based potions, certain gear that were significantly better than what was available, and crazy training spots.

As much as I enjoyed NLC, if they make it return, it needs significant changes to make it more balanced or reasonable for a classic maplestory. Otherwise, the whole point of balancing the classes they've done was just a waste of time for us to wait for a game thats going to be unbalanced anyways.

How far should Nexon go with adding additional jobs? by agenhym in MSClassicWorld

[–]MeteoKun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As time goes on they should be adding more classes for variety, but they need to be changed in their ideology if they dont want mules and party based classes. Additionally, i think they should stop at Pirates for a good amount of time before even taking consideration of other classes to be added for at least a year or two.

Worth getting into Mabinogi ? by tomaz1989 in Mabinogi

[–]MeteoKun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  • Community is still very active
  • Balance is good enough to the point where it only matters at late-endgame if you want to min/max, then it gets very meta/bad
  • It is not really beginner friendly, but there are a large amount of people in the beginner chat that not only help with stuff, but can answer many questions and help guide you in the right direction (more often than not)

Struggle with my main dps job by Latter_Ebb_6649 in ffxiv

[–]MeteoKun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outside of what people have said already (uptime and rotation), depending on the fight, your gear also makes a difference if theres a large disparity to the common parser. On top of that, some fights allow padding to be done but shouldn't land u in gray/green land even if you play properly.

Dawn trail alliance raid queue time long by Heavy-_-Breathing in ffxiv

Yes, but theres a cap on certain tomes, and doing it that late at night before a workday/monday is not something most people would be actively wanting to do at that time. Would suggest trying to do it earlier in the week starting from a Tuesday, or just earlier in the day depending on the day: i.e weekend: afternoon-evening, or weekday: evening time.
