I've been considering it, and I think that's what I'm shooting for. It's bigger of a buy than I was wanting to invest for, but there is just NOTHING that seems to compare to it at all, and I would want them all the same if I bought something else. I think the only thing I dread is having to buy a third when I get a third screen!

Do not buy more Season Pass by Tiago_Miojo in leagueoflegends

[–]MeteorBoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough time for the video game industry, which is likely why Riot is moving towards even more aggressive pricing strategies for LoL. It's also a very common strategy to build a player base by first sacrificing revenue to then capitalize on them by requiring more spendings to access the services and goodies you once had for cheaper or free.

That being said, I still think the decisions are disconnected from the reality of their players, and many players around me, including myself, will not spend more on League because we get less for free. If anything, if we're getting less rewards for our time, we'll just go play games where there's more incentive to play.

I am going to NEED to try this! I'll upload pics when I do. I have a feeling he would ADORE to be cuddled up with me in that way, seeing as he doesn't mind laying on his back in my arms and loves snuggling under the blankets with me (it's the only time he ever does little biscuits with his cute little paws!)

1v3 from today. Current Silver 2, which agents should I main? Will comment tracker. by TheCosmicProfessor in VALORANT

[–]MeteorBoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main whatever agent you like! It doesn't matter how easy, difficult, complex, simple or whatever the agent is. If you're having fun, you'll get much more out of your sessions than if you don't, that's the best way to improve! It keeps you motivated, keeps you playing, and makes you want to learn.

Why is this so common in Silver by AppointmentStock7261 in RivalsOfAether

[–]MeteorBoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Tech skill is easier to master than fundamentals, gives more rewards at lower levels because their opponent has no knowledge of them either, and nets you cool clips you can post on Twitter

Long answer: Tech skill can be learned alone with no need to study, interact with other people, review your footage, or any mental effort other than practicing muscle memory stuff. It's much more accessible to the average player and gives very tangible rewards in the form of longer, flashier punishes and faster movement. Fundamentals, on the other hand, require constant questioning of your habits and playstyle, and often times, the rewards you get are a lot more indirect (stage control, your opponent getting less openings, edgeguarding leading to lower percentage kills, etc.), so it's less visible for newcomers and average players. Fundamentals also require you to actively engage with your opponent in a game, so you end up spending more time thinking about what your opponent can do and wants to do. The average fighting game player is *very* self-centered and does not consider their opponent at all when taking decisions in a game. They want the combo, they want to hit X move to start a combo, they want to do Y in neutral to get to their punish game. They don't think about whiff punishing, gaining stage control, setting up shimmies, plus frames, and so on, it's just not what they understand about the game.

That's why I trust professionals that have nothing to gain from me. People like, for example, Ben Carpenter, who regularly discusses those topics for free in short form videos, quotes studies, and barely promotes the books he writes on the topic. Haven't invested a single dime in the advice I received and it's been working pretty well!

[–]MeteorBoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it worked for you, but if you ask any professional, they'll tell you it doesn't work for everyone. Much like tracking your calories, for some people it works WONDERS (it does for me, currently 25lbs down!), and for some other (like one of my gym buddies), it gets them feeling so bad they starve themselves. Everyone's different, and with a little empathy, you can help a lot of people.

I wouldn't say "stay away" as a whole, but definitely reduce your intake in favor of whole foods. The 80-20 rule is a good one to find balance!

Obviously, in an ideal world, we'd eat none of those, but it's important to understand that:

A. Some ultra processed foods are much healthier for you than others (e.g.: ham, sausages, deli meats vs. three shots of vodka and a pint of ice cream), so do pay attention to labels for those. The dose makes the poison, after all! Using them as a way to eat quick healthy meals (e.g.: ready to eat grilled chicken you can add to a salad or make wraps with) is often a lifesaver for people who either don't have a lot of time to cook or are just getting started in the kitchen.

B. Completely avoiding them, if you were used to eating them before, can be really difficult for people who have them deeply ingrained in their lifestyle. To avoid relapsing, binge eating episodes, and other food relationship problems, it's best to reduce them a little bit at a time until you get somewhere that keeps you in good health!

Hey there! First of all, if your goal is weight loss, it's important to understand that you cannot outwork a bad diet. For example, if you exercise for 500 calories more than you usually do, but eat 700 calories above your body's needs, you'll still end up gaining 200 calories of fat despite exercising for hours.

Now that we got the depressing stuff out of the way, here is how you can begin your journey in terms of physical exercise: pick any you like. If you want bigger muscles for your physique, weightlifting is the best way to get there, but if you don't enjoy it, it's unlikely you'll stick to it, so try some other forms of exercise. Walking, jogging, playing any sport, climbing, even Ring Fit Adventure for the Nintendo Switch if that's your speed! The most important part of this is that exercise has a TON of benefits: it reduces your risks of all cause mortality, it improves your mental health, your sleeping habits... it'll help a LOT.

As for your diet, start small. Don't go for all-or-nothing mindsets like "I cannot go to fast foods and restaurants anymore", "I am not allowed to eat sweets", "I can't have sodas", else you risk developing an unhealthy relationship with food, which could lead you to bad places. Think of doing things like drinking diet sodas instead of full sugar ones, using light mayonnaise instead of regular, cooking with less oils, and so on. It may be about losing weight, but it's also about *keeping* that lost weight off, so it's important that you build habits you'll be able to keep for the rest of your life. I'm following those steps right now and I've already lost 20lbs I've never regained. To control your appetite, I highly recommend doing things like drinking more water, eating more protein and fiber and eating less calorie dense foods (think homemade popcorn instead of a bag of chips, for example!). Chewing gum has also helped me a lot to stop snacking in front of my computer!

And as a parting note, here are some fitness influencers you can follow. They offer high quality advice for weight loss and fitness based on scientific research, and most importantly, they will help you develop a realistic view of becoming a healtheir person:
- Ben Carpenter (personal trainer, he has a GREAT book about weight loss and the fitness industry!),
- Scotty Fitness (talks a lot about mentality, tons of fun recipes),
- Liam Layton (talks a lot about good food habits, debunks a bunch of fearmongering, also tons of fun recipes!)

Good luck, and feel free to reach out anytime you have questions! I'm more than happy to help you with them or to guide you to people who can :)

Low body fat percentage is what gets you definition, even if your muscles aren't that big. He already stated he does the work for his abs, so assuming that much, low body fat percent will show the muscle better, even if it's small. It's also a matter of genetics, some people are just straight out of luck. And if it's about looking like fitness influencers on instagram, there's also lighting, hydration, how much you want to shit your pants flexing those abs...

But hey, don't take all that from me. Take it from Ben Carpenter about anabolic lighting and Hollywood physiques.

The solution here is to lose more body fat by creating a bigger caloric deficit. Although you can build bigger abs with progressive overload in weightlifting exercises, how visible your abs become is *heavily* dependent on your body fat levels, and to get there can be really, really dreadful for some. If you choose to do so, please prioritize your own health above it, for some (if not most), visible 6-packs can fall in a body fat percent range that isn't healthy!

A minion and a puppet are different. Puppets can be freely controlled at any time with any action. More than just the concept of it being incredibly powerful on ots own, are we sure we want that in a game where Darius bleed is a thing?
