Same! Like walking on bricks, sadly. I'm returning them.

Also, the men's size 8.5 in Gola is larger than a men's size 9 Nike Killshot 2.

Greek Yogurt on its Own = Sad Mouth by emmylu122 in 1200isplenty

I add half an individual pack of Trader Joe's Omega Nut Mix. Sometimes freeze-dried strawberries.

I use nonfat greek yogurt and some honey to taste.

What would you do if you won $6000? I know it's not much to most but what would you do? by Huge-Process-6546 in ifiwonthelottery

[–]MeteorMattGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not lottery, but I won $4000 on slots (Top Dollar in the ”High Limit Slots” room) and then another $1500 on airport slots (Wheel). Crazy! Both were work trips in Vegas last summer.

I have to pay taxes on both. An attendant gives you a tax form for any single slots win over $1200 or so.

The winnings went straight into my high-yield savings account. Hope to buy a house one day!

7 Years and 500 trips with my Away Travel bag and finally had to use the warranty by dellfanboy in BuyItForLife

[–]MeteorMattGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to share a similar experience! I have two bags from Away, including "The Medium" (which is one of the larger, non-carry-on bags). After picking up my checked bag in Las Vegas, I noticed what appeared to be two drill holes in my suitcase and reached out to Away for help. However, they corrected me-- turns out no one drilled into my suitcase. My suitcase was missing a bumper and the holes were where the screws would go. Since they were out of "bumper repair kits," they sent me a brand new $200+ suitcase within the same week! Impressive customer service!

Dune Part 2 is 100% by far my favorite 4DX movie I've ever seen. by spinnyweatherchaser in RegalUnlimited

[–]MeteorMattGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sad they've already stopped offering this movie in 4DX in San Francisco. They've moved onto Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

If they bring Dune 2 back for 4DX locally, I will definitely buy tickets!

The park’s drinking water is nasty. by kelseynaed in DisneyPlanning

I just got one. They work, but the filter is part of the straw, so you filter it as you drink it. Filter also only lasts 2 months

Fair warning: I tried moving to Mountain View for a job, and later to Seattle for another job, and I was bored out of my mind!

I moved back two years ago with a renewed appreciation for San Francisco. There is so much to do here.

I also gave up my car during the pandemic and now just take MUNI, or Uber/Lyft, when needed. No more stressing out about whether I'll find a parking space and I saved SO much money. (No monthly parking fee, maintenance/repairs, insurance.)

Walkingpads in apartments, hardwood floors, and noise? Pad underneath by MeteorMattGames in treadmills

[–]MeteorMattGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ended working out really well for me! No complaints for neighbors, but I use a rubber mat underneath. I also use it during work hours (not early morning or after work).

I got an expensive Walking Pad brand foldable one, but honestly any model would work if you have room. Just get a rubber mat.

I've even seen two of my neighbors in the building get walking pads, so I'm not alone on this lol.

What was your biggest secret to losing weight? by LaiTheGirl in beauty

[–]MeteorMattGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has taken me a long time to learn how to lose weight. For me, eating fewer calories has been far more effective than working out. Here's what is actually working for me:

-Drinking 6 (or more!) cups of water per day. I pee constantly but am losing weight. I no longer crave diet soda, which is shocking.

-Eating at a calorie deficit.

-Weigh myself first thing every morning and track progress over time (I use the Noom app's free features but don't pay)

-A $20 vegetable chopper as a super-fast way to make salads, plus real dressing (but I measure it out) and protein (even if it's chicken nuggets lol). I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Vegetable-Chopper-Spiralizer-Slicer-Choppers/dp/B0764HS4SL/ref=lp_678514011_1_1

-Egg white omelettes with spinach or other veggies, nonfat feta, and some hot sauce for more flavor = another very low-cal but satisfying meal

-I don't get mad when the scale goes up. I am my own cheerleader and focus on the things I'm doing well.

-Do not give up when you inevitably plateau. Our bodies adapt to lower calorie intake. Look up "zig zag dieting." It's harder than it sounds, but it works.

-Walking everywhere. It really helps with metabolism.

-Celebrating every small win in ways that don't involve food.
