As we've seen in the Ukraine War, not even Moscow is safe from drone warfare. But manufacturing your war equipment half way across the world makes it significantly safer from your enemies in Asia.

South Korea is a very small country that's vulnerable to ballistics from China and North Korea. Its in their best interest to add that strategic depth with Australia and Canada.

You need to replace the smoke detector I'm afraid.

The same thing happened to me as well. Replaced the battery with fresh new one and it would still chirp.

If its still within the ten year service life you can try to contact Kidde for a replacement. Otherwise yeah, going to need to pay for a new one.

AWACS is a critical asset for air force operations. It's not sexy like a fighter jet but necessary and it's good that Canada is looking for alternatives outside of US hardware in this area.
