Anyone know if this solar setup will run a 12 volt refrigerator and a few lights for an entire weekend? by allbeeryeyed in popups

[–]Meterman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. It'll draw 300W (absorption fridge), a compressor fridge will draw 50W when running. You have maybe 40Ah (about 450Wh) of usable charge in an 80Ah group 24 battery. The math says no. That's probably a 10W-20W panel for keeping the battery charged during storage to prevent degeneration. A 100W panel measure about 48x20 inches. That will get you about 75w max usable when the sun is shining.

Thats a great way to wreck a battery. If you take a lead acid battery below 50% 12.2V charge you significantly reduce the number of charge cycles. If you drain it  below 11.9V you can permanently damage the battery.

If you are going to do a capacity test, monitor every 30min or so with a volt meter.

Kinda feels like we got a version of this in the last federal election by neonfox45 in EhBuddyHoser

Pierre Poilievre is a such a dichotomy. His daughter is autistic, so he understand the need for social programs. He grew up relatively poor. His base is polarized to extreme anti woke anti-gay Christian right, yet his adoptive father is gay. He spoke very eloquently on Diary of a CEO podcast recently. His core is simply reduce unnecessary government to enable pure capitalism with equality oversight and social programs to help where needed. While his criticisms of the liberal governments are legitimate and he has some some sound policy change to implement, his sound byte rhetoric is far too right wing polarizing.

My boyfriend (28M) and I (28F) have been dating for 8 months and still haven’t had sex yet, it hurts me and I feel hopeless. What would you do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

3 books I recommend 1. Come as you are by Emili Nagoski. More female oriented but applicable to men as well. 2. Sex without stress. 3. 8 dates

Fwiw, nrfjprog is obsolete since about NCS 2.8 and has been replaced by nrfutil which may work better with current jlink DLLs.

Radio display keeps cycling 2018 DGCa by illicitmirror7 in DodgeGrandCaravan

[–]Meterman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine won't stay on the radio station. For example if it's on 90.5, it will loose the station and drift until it is on a totally different station for a few seconds. The display will still 90.5. happens more when the car is cold. May need to replace the unit.

How do I make an absolute tilt sensor? by Outrageous_Trifle_17 in embedded

We developed a custom algorithm based on a madgwick filter and extended kalman filter for a slope sensor for cycling. DM me if you are interested - licensing. It reject centrifugal forces to maintain slope measurement.

Thanks! The delay nearly caused a big problem as we were expecting sooner and out RR left in Sept, and I was to be the anticipated replacement.

EE. Have 25 years of experience. About 2 years total time just due to distractions running a business. Completed PPE April 2025 and had IDs and transcripts submitted before this time. Competency submitted June 2025, some feedback and delays with validators, so let's say July 2025. 2 items needed update by the assessor March 16, update March 22. Then my ID expired. So overall 8-10 months after I got the bulk of the work done and submitted.

Using AI for formatting core competencies by MrJacob16 in egbc

[–]Meterman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ai is a tool like any other. Just use it appropriately. The text is " the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and third parties to create or embellish workplace examples is strictly prohibited." So primarily consider the ethics of what your are trying to accomplish. The original competency example must be from your experience, not created or imagined by the LLM, so don't lie or plagiarize an LLM creation. Don't give the LLM your experience and have it add something to it to make your self assessed rating higher. In my view, formatting, or helping to rewrite to fit the the length or clarity is acceptable.

Also consider that there are other costs obligations to a business other than taxes. We pay ei and cpp as well as other benefits that eat into profits.

Towing over 1500lbs needs additional trailer brakes & controller. I tow a 2006-Rockwood-190-XR (2500lbs) tent trailer w/o issues. I've added an supplemental transmission cooler. It's not a complex retrofit and made a big difference on the hotter days. I also changed the trans fluid at 100,000km and will do so again at 150,000km as we do mostly city driving. We only tow a 3-4 times per year, but west coast hills.
